Love Me TV series preview

Through its compelling and relatable characters and a beautifully scripted drama, this new Aussie drama series is a delightful and profound take on love, family, and that constant longing for connection. Taking viewers to an unpredictable and riveting journey is the story of three different family members, each experiencing contemporary love at a certain point in their lives.

It follows the Mathiesons: Glen, 60s, his daughter Clara, 30s, and his son Aaron, 20s. After an unexpected event transforms their lives in ways they didn’t see coming, they find themselves overwhelmed with confusion and uncertainty. While each of them deal with their own, unique circumstances, they’re bound by the same need for emotional clarity.

Clara, for instance, enjoys a successful career but as she approaches her 40s, she begins to worry that the success she has achieved in her own right might have come at the expense of her family life. Her father, Glen, grapples with short-lived hope and bouts of desperation. He attempts to navigate love and romance in his older age, bringing him new experiences and revelations.

The youngest member of the family, Aaron, explores love in his 20s while also struggling to figure out who he really is and what he wants. His confusion over his identity is exacerbated by life’s challenges as they come unannounced and uninvited.

Thus, each member may be at different stages in their lives but they’re all seeking for their truths and joy. Their attempts and explorations also result in lapses, and humiliations, drawing them into a conflict-driven world closer than ever. As the source of the very best entertainment, BINGE promises this production to make you laugh and cry, and not necessarily in that order. It will be inspiring, funny, and heartwarming.

The production for this new local drama was announced back in August with production taking place in Melbourne and regional Victoria. Based on the Swedish series, Älska Mig, the six-part series is the first local drama by Warner Bros. International Television Production Australia.

The exceptional creative team behind the series is composed of director Emma Freeman (Stateless, Secret City, Glitch)with lead writer Alison Bell. The brilliant creative team also consists of writers Leon Ford, Adele Vuko and Blake Ayshford. Love Me also marks the first collaboration between Warner Bros. International Television Australia and BINGE.
