NRL is one of the most-watched codes in Australia, attracting millions of viewers during every round all the way to the Grand Final on 5 October.

More About NRL

The National Rugby League (NRL) has consistently enjoyed large viewing attendance with increasing number of fans across the country. It is also one of the most watched sports on Australian television. Every season promises engrossing suspense as teams engage in astonishing game plans. With the current NRL season underway, rugby fans in Australia are in for another year of  jam-packed stadium action and drama.

Will the Penrith Panthers defend their premiership or will Melbourne Storm get another shot this time? No matter where you are in the season, witnessing rugby action first-hand has never been this exciting and accessible. But first—you’ll need a comprehensive fixture and broadcast guide to make sure you don’t miss a thing.

Watch NRL Live: Channel 9 vs Fox League vs Kayo Sports

There are now several ways in which you can get your weekly dose of NRL sports streaming action in Australia, across both free-to-air and various streaming TV services. Check out how to watch NRL live on TV, or where to stream matches free.

Fortunately, there are several options for watching NRL games on any of your device, including Network Nine, Foxtel (including Foxtel Now), and Kayo Sports streaming.

In this section, you will find the broadcast rights for the 2025 NRL regular season fixtures, along with the TV and streaming providers who will be carrying these matches live. The TV and streaming rights for the Finals series differ, with every game available live on Foxtel, Kayo Sports and Channel 9 up until the Grand Final.

On Kayo Sports and Fox League (Foxtel and Foxtel Now), you can watch every match LIVE except the Grand Final, which will be on replay. On Foxtel, you can stream NRL on your mobile or any other device via Foxtel Go. On Channel 9, you can watch up to three live games a week including the Grand Final. Games on Nine are simulcast on 9Now

The 2025 NRL regular season kicks off on the 2nd of March and includes 27 rounds, where each team played a total of twenty-four matches. The Finals Series will begin on September, and conclude with the Grand Final on 5th October (AEDT). Again, the NRL Grand Final is exclusively live on Nine, but Foxtel and Kayo will show full replays of the Grand Final shortly after the event has concluded.

Watch NRL Live Match Replays On Demand

Today, you can stream every game of the Premiership online right up until the Grand Final, live as it happens, with no ad breaks interrupting the action during the match. The NRL Premiership has its own dedicated Fox League channel, so that league fans have something to watch 24/7. There’s also a free to air NRL broadcast partnership – Channel 9 and 9Now.

If you're unable to watch some games live, no worries, even die-hard fans miss certain matches sometimes. To make up for it, there are replays you can watch when you're free. Subscription services like Foxtel, Foxtel Now, and Kayo, of course, will have better coverage even in terms of replays. Not to mention sports streaming features that make watching more fun and convenient.

NRL Streaming: Free Trials You Can't Miss

A great way to get NRL Live stream access – without paying a cent – is with a Kayo Sports Free Trial (7 days) or a Foxtel Now Free Trial so it's slightly longer (10 days).

That means that if a particular match is coming up and you don’t have an existing subscription, you can simply check it all out for free with a trial. All you have to do to join is sign up, create an account and enjoy live league instantly.

Most of the free trials are available to new and returning customers. Plus, selected matches can be streamed for free via the live Nine broadcast and their sister service, 9Now each week.

International audiences can also view live NRL via their country’s broadcast partner. In the UK, for example, this would be BT Sport, whilst the US partner is Fox.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I watch NRL live in 2025?

NRL matches are broadcast by Fox League. Fortunately, there are several options for watching NRL 2025 in Australia, including Kayo Sports and Foxtel (including Foxtel Now). If you want to watch every game possible with no-ad breaks during play, these paid streaming services are the best platforms for watching NRL live and on demand.

Is NRL available on free-to-air in 2025?

Channel 9 broadcasts up to three live games a week including the Grand Final, which then becomes available for streaming on Nine’s catch-up streaming service, 9Now. More than live broadcasts, 9Now also offers fans NRL highlights, replays, and exclusive content, ensuring you are part of the NRL action.

What streaming services show every NRL game live?

Kayo Sports and Foxtel Now are paid streaming services that show every NRL game live, except for the Grand Final (there will be a delayed coverage). This is because NRL airs on Fox League, which you can access via Foxtel’s Sport Bundle. Kayo Sports and Foxtel Now get the same sports content that Foxtel offers at a cheaper monthly fee.

How can I stream NRL matches for free?

You can watch select NRL matches for free on Channel 9 and 9Now, including the Grand Final. Prior to the finals, the Nine Network broadcasts up to three games each week, which are simulcast on the free streaming service 9Now.

You can also stream NRL matches for free on Kayo Sports and Foxtel Now for a limited time using their current free trial offers (7 days for Kayo and 10 days for Foxtel Now).

How many rounds are there in the 2025 NRL season?

There are 17 NRL teams competing over 27 rounds in this year’s NRL Telstra Premiership, where each team plays a total of 24 matches.

Can I watch NRL games on replay?

If you miss any games, you can still catch up with full NRL match replays available on Kayo, Foxtel, and Foxtel Now. Nine Network’s catch-up service 9Now also offers replays for selected matches broadcast on Channel 9. Visit 9Now today to see what NRL highlights and replays are up for grabs.

Where can I watch NRL highlights online?

Witnessing the best moments in any NRL match is a whole new level of experience for rugby fans. Fortunately, there are several ways to ensure you're following the latest season from here on out. Simply go to the official NRL website or download the NRL app to watch highlights for free. You can also catch the sport’s most exciting moments on 9Now and YouTube.

If you have paid subscriptions to Kayo, Foxtel or Foxtel Now, these services also offer comprehensive coverage that includes full match replays, highlights, expert analysis, and more.

Don’t have enough time to watch the entire game? Kayo Sports offers a shorter recap with its Kayo Minis feature — condensed replays that keep all the best moments in one go. Foxtel (via Foxtel Go) and Foxtel Now, on the other hand, have Fox Minis, allowing fans to stream a selection of replays or catch pivotal moments of your favourite games.

When is the 2025 NRL Grand Final?

The culminating highlight of the season is the 2025 NRL Grand Final, happening on Sunday, 5 October. The highly anticipated match between two of the NRL's greatest teams will be broadcast live on Channel 9 and 9Now. Again, the Grand Final is excluded from Foxtel and Kayo’s live coverage, although a replay of the final game will be made available.
