What is the plot of Vera (TV series)?

After a mid-season break, Vera continues its eleventh season with two more episodes this year. Set against the backdrop of Northumbria’s landscape, the eponymous character still has complex cases to decipher following the discovery of a body in the back of a burned out car.

The victim is identified as Lucy, a popular local GP. Her murder investigation leads her to the fact that the case is far from simple as Vera learns that Lucy has heaps of enemies and lived a life with closely guarded secrets. Finding out who amongst her enemies has the strongest motive leads viewers to a world of deception and lust.

In the final episode for Season 11, another grim scene is going to test her to the limit as Vera begins to investigate the case of a young woman who was found dead on the banks of the River Tyne. Solving her murder proves to be tougher when Vera and her team realise that her friends and family alike have been lying about the circumstances surrounding the victim’s death.

Prior to these investigations, Vera also solved the murder of a guarded and paranoid woman whose death was initially thought to be a result of a terrible accident, until Vera discovers evidence the body has been staged and that the introverted victim ‘s life had many shocking layers. Another haunting case for the brilliant detective was the murder of an addiction support worker who was found at the Northumberland National Park.
