Pennyworth TV Show playing on demand in Australia

Fans of DC will be pleased to know that yet another one of their more famous comic book characters is set to hit Australian TV screens. Alfred Pennyworth would later go on to become Bruce Wayne’s loyal butler, but what did he do before? This new series goes back to 1960s London to find out.

Pennyworth Season 1 TV Preview

Have you ever wondered what Alfred, Batman’s trusty servant, got up to before Bruce Wayne came along? These 10 episodes set in a dystopian version of 60s London explore just that, shining a light on Mr Alfred Pennyworth, a young man with links to the British Special Air Service. He works the doors of London nightclubs on the side, and for such a well-spoken, handsome gentleman, he isn’t shy of the odd bit of violence.

In this first series, we follow Alfred as he gets caught up in a conflict with the dark Raven Society, alongside Thomas Wayne. This conflict results in the murder of one of Pennyworth’s closest associates, and he will do everything in his power to track them down for revenge.

Starring Jack Bannon (Medici), Ben Aldridge, (Fleabag) Hainsley Lloyd Bennett (Casualty), and Ryan Fletcher (Shetland), the much anticipated Pennyworth TV series has arrived in Australia and using the information in this guide you won’t have to miss a key moment.

Watchmen

Watchmen (Foxtel)

When Alan Moore (V For Vendetta, Swamp Thing) first created Watchmen, he could never have imagined that the comics would first be created into a successful film and now a TV series. Although not directly based on the original story, this 10 episode season has plenty of references to previous characters that should appease seasoned fans. The story centres on rising racial tension in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with a white supremacist group hell-bent on killing police, so much so that officers choose to wear masks to cover their identities.

Game of Thrones

Game Of Thrones (Foxtel Now)

If you haven’t already seen HBO’s Game Of Thrones then you have an eight-season binge-watching feast waiting to sink your teeth into. Set in the fictional medieval world of the Seven Kingdoms, this epic tail of civil war follows the struggle for the Iron Throne, with twists, battles and skulduggery evolving in every episode. Even the most sceptical viewers have been won over by a series that includes mythical creatures, dazzling costumes and Emmy nominated performances. Catch up on all episodes on Foxtel Now.
