Pennyworth Season 3 preview

Have you ever wondered what Alfred, Batman’s trusty servant, got up to before Bruce Wayne came along? This TV series set in a dystopian version of ’60s London explores just that, shining a light on Mr. Alfred Pennyworth, a former British SAS soldier. He works the doors of London nightclubs on the side, and for such a well-spoken, handsome gentleman, he isn’t shy of the odd bit of violence.

In the first season, we followed Alfred as he got caught up in a conflict with the dark Raven Society, alongside Thomas Wayne. This conflict resulted in the murder of one of Pennyworth’s closest associates. In Pennyworth Season 2, things have not improved as the Raven Society and No-Name League appear to be nearing an all-out war!

Meanwhile, the upcoming Pennyworth Season 3 starts after a five-year time jump. In the passing of time, the civil war that pretty much comprised the previous season’s narrative is over. However, this also brings about a cultural revolution that can either make or break the new world, alongside a new generation of superheroes and supervillains.

Pennyworth’s first two seasons aired in the US via the streaming service Epix. Last year it was announced that the series is moving to HBO Max for its third season. Along with the Season 3 announcement is its new running title, Pennyworth: The Origin of Batman’s Butler, just so everything is clear from the get go.
