There’s a new comedy series that’s coming to Australia this month. Reservation Dogs, a collaboration between Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and Sterlin Harjo (Four Sheets to the Wind), is set to premiere on BINGE as part of the streaming service’s August lineup. Find out how to stream episodes of this new TV series below.
Reservation Dogs TV Show Preview
This new comedy offering from FX follows four Indigenous teenagers in rural Oklahoma who spend their days committing crimes and all sorts of shenanigans. Feeling the weight of being stuck in a place where dreams of the youth are often reduced in size and significance, they feel a sense of comfort and motivation with the possibility of traveling west to California. With a new goal in mind, they steal and deal to make just enough ill-gotten cash to make the California plan happen.
Reservation Dogs is certainly a significant addition to Hollywood’s roster of TV shows for its broadened and strengthened ideas of inclusion that now focus on Native Americans. While there’s a deeper level of social and political themes at work here, the series chooses to charm its audiences through comedic storytelling. It may tell important stories of four Indigenous teenagers living on a rural Oklahoma reservation and trying to find their place in this world, but it doesn’t make you think too hard, retaining its fun, laid-back vibe.
Reservation Dogs will consist of eight half-hour episodes. The comedy show also features an entirely Indigenous main cast starring D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Devery Jacobs, Paulina Alexis, and Lane Factor. Guest stars comprise Tamara Podemski, Zahn McClarnon, Macon Blair, Kirk Fox, Matty Cardarople, Dallas Goldtooth, Bobby Lee, Lil Mike, and Funny Bone, among others. The first episode was written by both Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi with Harjo directing the pilot as well.
