I am new user and Looking for sports package which will show cricket World Cup 2015

    • CompareTV February 3, 2015 at 11:30 am - Reply

Hi Simrat, for Foxtel play you need to subscribe to the Sports Package to watch the 2015 Cricket World Cup. Same for Foxtel TV. Hope this helps
      Thanks

Can you pay for PPV events (www.mainevent.com.au) and watch it on a Foxtel Play?
Or do you actually need the Foxtel Set-top box unit to watch PPV events?

    • Steve Johnson April 9, 2015 at 2:28 am - Reply

Hi Jan, a Foxtel set-top box is required to get the channel (518) that’s used to broadcast Pay Per View events. Cheers!

  3. CompareTV April 24, 2015 at 12:15 pm - Reply

Hi Mike, unfortunately Main Event is not available on Foxtel Play so you would have to subscribe to Foxtel (Via Cable) to watch that fight, it will be a cracker!

HI, when you say “TV” which TV channels do you provide? What definition of TV content can i expect to see? Is it location based TV also?

    • Compare TV October 12, 2015 at 4:30 pm - Reply

      Hi Anthony,

Depending on what genre pack you subscribe to the viewing experience will differ – have a look at our Foxtel Play review. This covers all the info you need to know – its a quick 2.5min video 🙂

    Hi
I’m trying to access Rugby World Cup replays on iMac, PC, or iPAd – is there any option that you know of?
    I don’t have a Fox Sports package…but do have a DTV.
    Thanks

Hi is foxtel go the same as foxtel play im trying to connect and watch through my xbox and wasnt surebif its the same

    • Compare TV January 19, 2016 at 2:18 pm - Reply

      Hi ELise,

When it comes to Foxtel Go versus Foxtel’s other online-streaming service Foxtel Play, there has been a bit of confusion – the two services do share in common the ability to watch Foxtel’s 70+ channels at any time of the day or night, streamed live via the internet. But the similarity ends there. Foxtel Go is a companion app to the main Foxtel service (either Foxtel Pay TV or Foxtel Play via online streaming) itself, and requires an active Foxtel subscription to function – you can download the app for free, you’ll then be prompted to enter your Foxtel account login details.

Foxtel Play, is a live-streamed version of the actual Foxtel subscription service that you pay monthly for.

      Hope that clears things up!

Will the 2016 AFL be on foxtel play and does it broadcast in High definition?

    • Anthony Horan January 19, 2016 at 5:17 pm - Reply

Yes, all AFL games are shown like on Foxtel Play on the “Footy Play” channel. However, Foxtel Play is only available in standard definition.

I have a panasonic smart tv. will foxtel play steam to that

    • Anthony Horan February 15, 2016 at 6:12 pm - Reply

Currently Foxtel Play only has apps for selected Samsung, Sony and LG smart TVs, but you could still stream it to your Panasonic by using a Playstation or Xbox game console if you have one.

When will Foxtel offer the Sports package as a standalone package without the need to purchase a ‘base’ package first? You have no idea how many people I know that would purchase this but don’t because they need the ‘base’ package too. Consider it!

    • Anthony Horan March 11, 2016 at 3:41 am - Reply

It’s a popular request, and if Foxtel ever does anything like that, you’ll certainly read about it here first! In the meantime, we’ll pass your suggestion on to them 🙂

Hello , I wanted to ask if this offer for new users only ? I tried the trial last year already during world cup if i cant have the trail is there any no lock in contract that I can apply for ?

    • Anthony Horan March 21, 2016 at 11:22 pm - Reply

Yes, it’s an offer for new users only; however, there’s nothing stopping you from creating a new account and enjoying another two weeks’ free trial!

As for lock-in contracts, Foxtel Play doesn’t have any – you just pay by the month, and can cancel any time you like.

      • Danno March 31, 2016 at 4:16 pm - Reply

There is actually something stopping you creating another account if you want to use it on a device that has already had the free trial you will get an error stating that you have already had a free trial on this device. AS4043 is the error number if I recall correctly.

        • Anthony Horan April 4, 2016 at 6:44 pm - Reply

Interesting to know, Danno – thanks for the information!

Hi, can I watch via apple tv or chromecast? Can I access new Game of Thrones when it starts?

    • Anthony Horan April 4, 2016 at 6:43 pm - Reply

Neither Apple TV or Chromecast are supported for Foxtel Play at the moment, and you won’t be able to AirPlay or Cast from the Foxtel Go app either – they’re restrictions that are there because of the type of licensing Foxtel has for its shows. At the moment, unless you have a supported smart TV, the only other way to stream Foxtel Play to your TV is via Playstation or Xbox game consoles (both current and previous generation versions).

I am trying to sign up and the account website is continually not available. 2 nights in a row. Have tried on multiple devices.

I keep getting this message despite the fact i am in Australia.
“Sorry for the inconvenience. Access to My Account is not currently available outside Australia.”

    • Anthony Horan June 6, 2016 at 8:21 pm - Reply

Do you have your modem/router set up with a VPN, or using a “smart DNS” service like Getflix, that might be fooling the site into thinking you’re not in Australia?

  15. Callum Staples July 14, 2016 at 11:53 pm - Reply

Hey, I tried to sign in for the 2 weeks free trial. Entered all the information correctly, but I’m not getting any confirmation email?

    • Anthony Horan October 4, 2016 at 6:54 pm - Reply

As always with confirmation emails, do check your spam or junk mail folder in your mail program (or on the Outlook/Gamil/etc site if you’re using web mail).

I want to watch free movies and tv shows on my ps4, Is it free after the 2 weeks or is there a subscription

    • Anthony Horan August 4, 2016 at 6:25 pm - Reply

After the 14-day free trial, you will be billed monthly for the service if you don’t cancel it, yes.

  17. Wayne October 8, 2016 at 8:03 pm - Reply

Can you get replays of events eg 2016 Bathurst 1000 with the free trail

    • Steve Johnson October 9, 2016 at 2:55 pm - Reply

      Hi Wayne,

Yes, you can watch the scheduled replays using Foxtel Play and the Free Trial.
The Bathurst Race will be replayed one hour after conclusion, Sunday evening and there will be
other replays on Monday as well.

      Cheers

Mac – Mac OS x Snow Leopard 10.6, Mac OS X Lion 10.7 with Safari version 5 or above.

I signed up for the free 2 week trial yesterday and haven’t heard anything. Will I receive an email with instructions .

    • Anthony Horan November 14, 2016 at 9:15 pm - Reply

You should, yes – check your spam or junk mail folder in your email program (or site) to make sure it didn’t get sorted in there by mistake, it happens more often than you’d think!

Also, if you chose a user name and password when you signed up, have you tried downloading the Foxtel Play app and signing in? Once you’ve signed up for the trial, you get access immediately, there’s no waiting.
