Shining Vale preview
The series follows Pat Phelps (Courteney Cox), her husband Terry (Greg Kinnear), and their teenage kids Gaynor and Jake, as they ditch their cramped city lives for a way more spacious countryside mansion. Pat, with her history as a wild child, had her shot to fame as the author of erotic female empowerment novels in the past.
After she’s caught cheating, the not-so-happy couple decides to use all their savings to buy a huge house in a small town as a last-ditch effort to save their marriage. While she’s been a devoted and faithful wife in all her married life, her one slip up proved critical, leading to their life-changing family move.
At first, Pat is the only one sensing that something is off with the house that she has become convinced she’s either depressed or possessed. But they soon find out why the agents were more than happy to sell the place at a bargain price, and why the saying “too good to be true” always comes back to bite you.
It turns out terrible atrocities have taken place in their new home, including a triple murder-suicide. With demons haunting them, their family drama takes a back seat so they can deal with haughty, misbehaving demons first, or does it?
In Season 2, the Phelps family will continue to struggle with the fact that they’re being haunted by ghosts. Pat also returns home after getting herself in a psychiatric hospital during the Season 1 finale, finding it quite intense to deal with her mental state while her family remains broken. Talk about fighting your inner demons while also keeping the ones you can see at bay.
Created by Jeff Astrof and Sharon Horgan, the series is produced by Warner Bros. Television and Lionsgate Television, and executive produced by Astrof from Other Shoe Productions. Sharon Horgan also serves as writer and executive producer alongside Clelia Mountford from Merman. Astrof wrote the pilot teleplay from an idea he came up with alongside Horgan.
Additionally, Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor of Kapital Entertainment serve as executive producers, while Courteney Cox is producer. The lead stars Courteney Cox and Greg Kinnear are joined by award-winning actresses Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks) and Mira Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite), forming an extremely talented cast.

Shining Vale Season 2 release date
More than a year after the first season finale, Shining Vale finally returns for a second season, confirmed to premiere on Saturday, October 14 on BINGE and at 8.30pm on Foxtel’s FOX Showcase channel. Just like Shining Vale Season 2, the new season will also consist of eight episodes.
