How to watch Shining Vale in Australia

Shining Vale

BINGE has recently announced that a new TV series starring Greg Kinnear and Courteney Cox will premiere on the service in March next year. Titled Shining Vale, it follows a dysfunctional family uprooting their lives to move to an old Victorian mansion with its own storied past, only to find out that living in a small town doesn’t necessarily equate to peace and serenity. A part family comedy mixed with classic horror, there’s a lot of scary and crazy fun to be found in this new horror-comedy series. Find out how to watch new episodes in Australia right here.

Shining Vale TV series preview

The series follows Pat Phelps (Courteney Cox), her husband Terry (Greg Kinnear), and their teenage kids Gaynor and Jake, as they ditch their cramped city lives for a way more spacious countryside mansion. Pat, with her history as a wild child, had her shot to fame as the author of erotic female empowerment novels in the past. She, however, despairs the fact that she can’t follow her previous success with a new second novel, leading her to start feeling that much-dreaded sense of unfulfillment.

Her marriage and even motherhood don’t seem to help – she and her husband are no longer passionate with each other and her kids have grown up to the point that they naturally prefer distance. And so she has a torrid affair with a young handyman who came over to fix the sink, because this is how extramarital affairs usually begin – problems in the kitchen.

After she’s caught cheating, the not-so-happy couple decides to use all their savings to buy a huge house in a small town as a last-ditch effort to save their marriage. While she’s been a devoted and faithful wife in all her married life, her one slip up proved critical, leading to their life-changing family move.

At first, Pat is the only one sensing that something is off with the house that she has become convinced she’s either depressed or possessed. But they soon find out why the agents were more than happy to sell the place at a bargain price, and why the saying “too good to be true” always comes back to bite you. It turns out terrible atrocities have taken place in their new abode, including a triple murder-suicide. With demonic presence haunting them, their family drama takes a back seat so they can deal with haughty, misbehaving demons first, or does it?

The premiere date for this TV production will be March 2022. It’s produced by Warner Bros. Television and Lionsgate Television, and executive produced by Jeff Astrof from Other Shoe Productions. Sharon Horgan was also set to write and executive produce the series alongside Clelia Mountford from Merman. Astrof wrote the pilot teleplay from an idea he came up with alongside Horgan.

Additionally, Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor of Kapital Entertainment serve as executive producers, while Courteney Cox is producer. The popular lead stars Courteney Cox and Greg Kinnear are joined by award-winning actresses Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks) and Mira Sorvino (Mighty Aphrodite), forming an extremely talented cast.
