Who will win the Premier League?

Manchester City has comfortably been the best team in the league over the past five seasons, having won the competition four times during that period. Liverpool has largely been their biggest adversary, winning it in the 2019/20 season but usually finishing second behind City.

This year however might see a new contender challenge the status quo, as Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have started very well and could give Man City a run for their money.

The Top 2

Arsenal has more than set the tone for the Premier League this year, with 10 wins out of 12 matches played to put them top of the pile. This has been possible with the coming of age of Gabriel Martinelli who has been electric in front of the goal. His Brazilian compatriot, Gabriel Jesus, left Manchester City to be the number one choice at Arsenal and hasn’t looked back since having also helped the team score the necessary goals to win games.

Manchester City might be off the usual performance of their own standards yet, Pep Guardiola loves to grow into a season. Erling Haaland has complimented the team incredibly well, however, the figureheads like Kevin De Bruyne and Phil Foden shouldn’t be forgotten about, with their form also having helped them to high stature in the league.

The Chasing Pack

Antonio Conte and his Tottenham Hotspur team might not be perfect but they’re certainly entertaining, something that was true when the club had to endure Jose Mourinho’s defensive tactics. This new-look Spurs makes its own luck, amplified by the 3-2 win against Bournemouth which the team came back from a two-goal deficit with goals from Ryan Sessegnon, Ben Davies, and the 92nd-minute winner from Rodrigo Bentacur.

Given the cash injection piled into Newcastle United, it’s no wonder that the Magpies are climbing the league table. Miguel Almiron might not be the flashiest of players, however, the Paraguayan has truly flourished under Eddie Howe, drawing comparisons to former Premier League striker, Roque Santa Cruz.

While the season didn’t start well for Manchester United, Erik ten Hag has been afforded the time to fix the problems and subsequently, holes have been filled. It is however still apparent that nobody at Old Trafford knows the best eleven at the club as the starting line-up is often subject to change, including the ever-lasting saga as to whether Cristiano Ronaldo is still right for the club.

Who will be relegated from the Premier League?

It’s just as competitive at the bottom of the table with nobody wanting to lose the riches of the Premier League. Last year Leeds United managed to survive the drop on the last day of the season with a 2-1 win. Supporters might have gone through the wringer yet, the ecstasy of the great escape provided many celebrations.

Nottingham Forest is one of the favourites to drop down having come up through the playoffs and generally struggled to adapt to the Premier League having endured heavy defeats to Arsenal and Leicester City.

After several years in the top flight, it would appear that Wolverhampton Wanderers are struggling to keep up with the evolving game as the team has been well below par and found it increasingly difficult to score goals, even with the arrival of Premier League legendary striker, Diego Costa.
