The Trenchard family returns nearly three decades after the events of the previous series with Belgravia Season 2, officially titled The Next Chapter. This highly-anticipated sequel to Julian Fellowes’ historical drama will revolve around Frederick Trenchard and his romance with Clara Dunn, a newcomer to London society.

Their relationship, however, is threatened by a family secret involving Frederick’s true parentage. As they navigate their marriage and societal expectations, the Trenchards are once again haunted by a shocking scandal in the past that will continue to shape their lives 25 years later.

The sequel to Belgravia will be available to watch on Foxtel, Foxtel Now, and BINGE in Australia. The original 2020 series is still available on demand on the aforementioned services.

Foxtel and Foxtel Now customers can stream The Next Chapter via Showcase.

Initially intended as a limited series, Belgravia is an adaptation of Fellowes’ novel of the same name. However, a follow-up series was confirmed two years after the premiere of the original show, expanding its storyline via a different timeline and introducing new characters.

In the sequel, Susan Trenchard’s affair with the villainous John Bellasis produced a son, Frederick Trenchard. Unaware that his birth was the result of a scandalous affair, Frederick grew up to be troubled, sensing that something was amiss in his family. His chaotic childhood has made the third Lord Trenchard deeply insecure, compromising his romance with Clara Dunn.

Created by Helen Edmundson with Fellowes serving as an executive producer, The Next Chapter also features the return of original cast: Alice Eve as Susan Trenchard and Richard Goulding as Oliver Trenchard.

Check out the trailer for the new Belgravia Season 2 here.

The continuation of Belgravia will introduce mostly new cast members and feature original characters as well, with Alice Eve and Richard Goulding returning as Susan and as Oliver Trenchard.

They complete cast of Belgravia Season 2 are as follows:

  • Harriet Slater as Clara Dunn
  • Ben Wainwright as Frederick Trenchard
  • Edward Bluemel as Dr Stephen Ellerby
  • Toby Regbo as Rev James Trenchard
  • Hannah Onslow as Emily Dunn
  • Sophie Thompson as Mrs Dunn
  • Claude Perron as the Marquise D’Étagnac
  • Sophie Winkleman as the Duchess of Rochester
  • Elaine Cassidy as Davison

If you’re looking for more period dramas, there’s plenty to try on streaming, including the original series Belgravia, as well as other series created by Julian Fellowes, like Downton Abbey and The Gilded Age.
