In the Romantic Getaway TV series, Katherine Ryan and Romesh Ranganathan star as couple Allison and Deacon. Struggling to fall pregnant, they undergo IVF treatments to finally start a family. But when they run out of money to fund more treatments, they turn to their wealthy boss with criminal proclivities for “help”. Only the so-called help is a disaster waiting to happen.

An original Sky comedy series, Romantic Getaway finally makes its Australian premiere on Valentine’s Day. Find out where you can watch every episode of the TV series on demand.

What’s in this Guide?

The comedy-drama follows Allison and Deacon, who, like many couples, struggle to conceive. Their only hope lies in the success of an IVF treatment but with their funds running out, they become desperate to find other means. Enter their filthy rich boss Alfie, who they discover is illegally skimming money off from the company.

Recognising an opportunity, albeit dangerous and illegal, the couple throws caution to the wind and “borrows” £50,000 in Bitcoin. As if stealing Bitcoin is not enough risk, Deacon, on a whim, raises the stakes by adding an extra zero to the transfer. Naturally, they become entangled in the criminal underworld after their utmost desire to have a baby (and to buy a Prada handbag) resulted in the theft of half a million pounds.

Combining romance, comedy, thriller, and lots of Bonnie and Clyde references, Romantic Getaway is a quirky Valentines treat headlined by a surprisingly killer trio: Katherine Ryan (Episodes, The Duchess), Romesh Ranganathan (King Gary, Reluctant Landlord), and Johnny Vegas (Ideal, Benidorm).
