The Curse of Oak Island in Australia: where to watch it free, and when season 14 arrives

You can watch The Curse of Oak Island free in Australia. SBS On Demand has seasons 11 to 13, including the whole of season 13, and 9Now has four earlier seasons, both with ads. Season 14 premieres in the US on the HISTORY channel on Tuesday 10 November 2026, but no Australian date has been announced. If you would rather own the series, Apple TV sells it season by season.

On free-to-air TV this week

Oak Island is also on free-to-air as a repeat. The ICE TV guide, checked on 27 October 2026, lists SBS2 repeating recap specials on weeknights from Wednesday 28 October at about 5.50pm. They are filed under season 10, starting with episode 29, and are Top Ten and Drilling Down episodes hosted by Matty Blake, not the regular season 10 episodes. It also lists 9Rush, in the Sydney guide, showing a season 3 episode, "Sword Play", at 1.30am on Wednesday 28 October and 1pm on Saturday 31 October. These are older episodes and recaps, so they suit a catch-up more than a new-season fix.

When does season 14 start?

HISTORY's show page says the new season premieres on Tuesday 10 November 2026, and Wikipedia gives the same date. That follows the usual gap of about six months after the May finale. In the US the episodes go on the HISTORY app and website the day after they air. No Australian date has been announced for season 14.

What the show is about

The Curse of Oak Island premiered on HISTORY on 5 January 2014. It follows brothers Rick and Marty Lagina, from Kingsford, Michigan, as they hunt for treasure on Oak Island, off Nova Scotia. Robert Clotworthy and James Thornton narrate, and Prometheus Entertainment produces the show for HISTORY. Rick first read about the island's Money Pit in a 1965 Reader's Digest article, at age eleven.

The team includes Marty's son Alex Lagina, engineer Craig Tester, historian Charles Barkhouse and metal detecting expert Gary Drayton. The Money Pit, Borehole 10-X and Smith's Cove are among the key search areas, and the team has explored theories including a Knights Templar link. Reported finds include a copper coin believed to date from the 17th century and a garnet brooch about 400 to 500 years old.

If you are new, 9Now lets you start at season 1 (it has seasons 1, 2, 3 and 5), and SBS On Demand picks up from season 11. Apple TV sells ten seasons.
