Jane Austen’s final unfinished manuscript has been adapted for television with the period drama Sanditon. The first season starred Rose Williams and Theo James as Charlotte Heywood and Sidney Parker. After their heartbreaking parting, the second series saw notable cast changes that made the story go in a different direction. Fortunately, these changes worked and thrived, leading us to the final series – Sanditon Season 3.

What’s in this Guide?

Sanditon Season 3 preview

When we first met Charlotte, she was a spirited and naive young woman who had come to the seaside resort of Sanditon to find love. Her heartbreaks and her devastation over the many sad realities of life have since made her cautious when it comes to trusting another, transforming her into an independent young woman.

But Charlotte loves to love and so she finds potential romance with the brooding Alexander Colbourne (Ben Lloyd-Hughes). Only their love story is one that’s laced with complexities, even more so when Charlotte shockingly agreed to marry farmer Ralph Starling (Cai Brigden) in the final episode of series 2.

The third and final season will most likely explore this turn of events with Colbourne still very much in the picture as confirmed by showrunner Justin Young. There might be a way for the pair to patch things up and decide to face difficulties together, especially since they’re supposed to be endgame.

Fans are also dying to know what’s next for Georgina. In the previous season, she just found out that the man she loves, Charles Lockhart, is actually a con artist wanting dibs on her inheritance. The whole Lockhart revelation also unveiled the truth about the reason Sidney was in Antigua in the first place.

We’ll have to wait for the new episodes to drop on streaming TV to find out what’s next for these characters, although there’s surely an intense love triangle already brewing from the looks of things.
