How to watch Somebody Somewhere in Australia

Somebody Somewhere is a charming comedy about chasing your dreams when most think it’s already too late. Interestingly, the series is inspired by the story of its lead star, comedic actress and singer Bridget Everett (Camping). Garnering positive reviews for its heartwarming exploration of people and their relationships, complexities, motivations, and dreams, Somebody Somewhere was renewed for a second season. Find out how you can watch new episodes from Season 2 using this guide.

Inspired by Bridget Everett’s own life, the series follows Sam, a true Kansan who’s always felt like she’s an outsider in her hometown, not being able to fit the hometown mould. Dealing with loss and struggling with acceptance, Sam’s saving grace is music and her singing.

With her lifelong passion, she embarks on an amusing journey of self-discovery, meeting a community of outsiders, who, just like her, also consider fitting in as one of their greatest challenges. Together, they attempt, persist, and realise that despite feeling lost and unwanted, you’ll ultimately find your people and your voice.

In Season 2, it becomes more apparent how Sam is the pillar of her family, helping her sister Tricia during her divorce from Rick, who had been having an affair with her best friend, Charity. We’ll also get to see what’s next for our lead protagonist in the next season after Sam quits her day job. Joel, on the other hand, realises he wants whatever it is that a traditional married life offers, giving him a new dose of motivation.

Somebody Somewhere stars Bridget Everett, who also serves as executive producer, with co-creators Hannah Bos Paul Thureen. Joining in the executive producer role are Carolyn Strauss, Jay Duplass, Mark Duplass, and Mel Eslyn for Duplass Brothers Productions, as well as Patricia Breen and Tyler Romary. Lead writers for the series are Patricia Breen, and Tyler Romary with Jay Duplass and Robert Cohen directing.
