The Price of Glee documentary preview

In The Price of Glee, cast and crew reveal surprising truths behind making the smash hit series and the issues that afflicted its cast members, including the racism allegations against Lea Michele and the abuse allegations from Melissa Benoist toward ex Blake Jenner. It also delves into the tragic events and shocking circumstances surrounding the deaths of Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera, and Mark Salling.

Glee is a musical comedy series that aired from 2009 to 2015. Its massive success catapulted its previously unknown stars to global fame, especially its lead stars Lea Michele and Cory Monteith. In 2013, Monteith unexpectedly passed away from a heroin overdose. In 2018, Mark Salling died by suicide after pleading guilty to possession of child pornography. Two years after that, Naya Rivera died by accidental drowning.

The deaths of Monteith, Rivera, and Salling are widely known, but some may be unaware that five crew members also died during production. With eight cast and crew members passing away, the three-part documentary from Investigation Discovery pushed the “Glee curse” narrative, infuriating fans.

The Price of Glee has since received criticisms for the direction it took, but for those who want to watch the docuseries, it hits selected streaming services in Australia in April.
