How to watch And Just Like That... in Australia

And Just Like That… Season 2 finally gives what Sex and the City fans want ever since the revival series was launched – the return of Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones, although it’s just a one-off appearance. The original series premiered in 1998 and concluded in 2004 after six seasons. The characters then reprised their roles in 2008 and 2010, this time on the cinematic screen with two feature films. Over a decade later, Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda once again graced our screens with their fun and outrageous sense of style, humour, and attitude as they navigate the new chapter of their lives in the hit sequel series.

With And Just Like That Season 2 now available in Australia, here’s everything to know about the new season.

Love and friendship are tough to deal with when you’re in your 30s. Fans met Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte during this period of their lives as they took on the conundrums of New York City and life in general. While the show’s storylines combined romance, drama, comedy, and heaps of sex life talk, the Sex and the City story also tackled timely social issues, many of them delivered in brilliant and hilarious one-liners.

Nearly two decades after the events of Sex and the City’s final season, Carrie, Charlotte, and Miranda are back with an even more complicated reality to face, because age and sage may rhyme with each other but they don’t make it any easier. And so with new realities presented to them brought by the changing times, And Just Like That… will tell an honest story about how it is to be a woman in her 50s in New York City.

It should be noted that the revival series didn’t include Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) in the first season, although she’s been confirmed to appear as a guest star in Season 2. Nevertheless, And Just Like That… also introduced fresh faces upon premiere, including Sara Ramirez as Che Diaz and Sarita Choudhury as Seema Patel.

In Season 2, more familiar faces are set to return starting with John Corbett as Aidan Shaw, Carrie’s former flame. Candice Bergen, who portrayed Carrie’s fierce Vogue editor Enid Frick in the original series, is also set to appear in the new season. Gloria Steinem and Sam Smith, meanwhile, have been confirmed to guest star.

Being a huge revival event on television, it was interesting to see how And Just Like That… progressed from its decades-ago Sex and the City style and narrative without compromising the show’s original charm and appeal. True fans, however, didn’t miss this occasion simply because it’s always invigorating to see Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte walk the streets of New York City with exuding confidence. That and their shoes, and handbags. Their entire closets, really.
