What’s in this Guide?

The War: Australia’s Bikie Killings in Australia preview

A gripping documentary series produced by The Daily Telegraph that provides an unflinching look inside the long-standing bikie wars, the Hamzy and Alameddine crime families, and the rest of Sydney’s underworld.

The War: Australia’s Bikie Killings also takes viewers through the city’s streets, bathed in blood as drug debts, revenge, blood lust, and hunger for power fuelled outrageous acts of gang violence for eighteen months. Resulting in thirteen murders, it is the worst bikie-related violence Sydney had seen in a generation.

The brazen shooting of senior Comanchero bikie Tarek Zahed and the murder of his brother Omar reignited the long-running Sydney gang war, but where did it all begin?

Following his discharge from the Navy, Anthony Spencer falls into the alluring and dangerous world of outlaw bikies, ultimately becoming acquainted with William “Jock” Ross – the Supreme Commander of the notorious Comancheros gang. Their falling out soon becomes an unquenchable animosity, resulting in Spencer breaking away to form the first Australian chapter of the Bandidos.

The deadly conflict between outlaw bikie gangs has since continued with threatening escalation, deeply alarming Australian authorities. Targets are fatally gunned in broad daylight and a spate of drive-by shootings in Sydney’s west suburbs, are just one of the acts of violence that has plagued the city.

The War: Australia’s Bikie Killings is a must-watch for anyone interested in the dark underbelly of Australia’s underworld and the brutal conflicts that have shaped it.

Meanwhile, another series dramatising the conflict between the Bandidos and the Comanchero motorcycle clubs, and the resulting Milperra massacre, also aired on Channel 10 last 2012. Titled, Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms, each episode of the series starts with a quote stated by Justice Adrian Roden when the clubs went before the New South Wales Supreme Court, which reads, “As patriotism can lead to jingoism and mateship can lead to cronyism, so bikie club loyalty can lead to bikie club war.”
