Devils Season 2 preview

The Italian thriller series returns for season 2 this year, focusing on the financial repercussions of the pivotal Brexit referendum to the New York London Investment Bank.

Amidst the financial ruckus, the latest season continues to examine the wealthy but scandalous personal lives of the show’s central characters, as well as explore Massimo’s career after he managed to reach the top despite major setbacks.

Season 2 also navigates his new position and how it makes him even more distrustful. While he’s now CEO, the Italian trader remains cautious of those around him.

Moreover, after their riveting showdown in season 1, Massimo and his mentor Dominic Morgan are back for a more bitter rivalry as conflicts continue to put a strain on their relationship, which started when Dominic denied Massimo the CEO seat.

Dominic’s squabble isn’t with his former protege alone – he also faces the wrath of Sofia Flores (Laia Costa), who blames him for her brother’s death. Another tough competition also comes in the form of Jeremy Stonehouse (Michael Nouri).

Directed by Nick Hurran (Sherlock) and Jan Maria Michelini (Medici), season 2 stars Alessandro Borghi (Suburra), Laia Costa (Foodie Love), and Patrick Dempsey (Grey’s Anatomy). It also features new characters as the show’s narrative continues to expand and deepen.

Devils Season 1 recap

Massimo Ruggero runs the show as the Head of Trading at New York London Investment Bank, within the English capital’s square mile. Even though there is a financial crisis ripping through the continent, Massimo is still making millions out of his work.

This talented trader is in line to become vice-CEO before his wife becomes embroiled in a scandal as a paid escort. Due to this, his father-like boss, CEO Dominic Morgan denies him the opportunity to move up the ladder, leading Massimo wondering whether everything is just some kind of set-up.

When everyone he thought he could trust ends up leaving and betraying him, Massimo devises a scheme to create a scandal against NYL. Again, this generates a rollercoaster of dilemmas especially when Dominic reveals that he’s privy to his wife and Massimo’s affair.
