Just like the original film, the Cruel Intentions series follows two step-siblings as they use their wealth, privilege, and status to manipulate others and get what they want. Dominating the echelons of their prestigious school, their positions are threatened following a brutal hazing incident.

To avoid the repercussions, which could affect their school’s Greek Life system, they intend to do whatever it takes to retain their power and reputation — even if that entails seducing and then deceiving the Vice President’s daughter.

The Cruel Intentions series was developed for television by Phoebe Fisher and Sara Goodman, based on the screenplay written by Roger Kumble for the 1999 film. The entire story is actually a modern retelling of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos’ 1782 novel Les Liaisons Dangereuses.
