What to expect in Chicago Fire Season 12?

Chicago Fire is the first instalment of the Chicago franchise, followed by Chicago P.D., Chicago Med, and the short-lived Chicago Justice. The show follows the life of Chicago Fire Department firefighters, rescuers, and paramedics in the fictitious Chicago Firehouse 51, which is home to Engine Company 51, Truck Company 81, Rescue Squad Company 3, Battalion 25, and Ambulance 61.

As the final episode of the Chicago Fire Season 11 was a cliffhanger, it’s only right for fans of the series to dive right into the first episode of the new season 12, which picks up after a six-month time jump.

The twelfth season features the return of Severide after his absence in season 11, leaving 51 to take up an arson investigation program in Alabama. While he and Stella only got married in Chicago Fire Season 10, his departure to pursue being an arson cop has seemingly taken its toll on their marriage.

Meanwhile, Mouch’s brush with death in last season’s edge-of-your-seat cliffhanger (Chicago Fire Season 11 Episode 22) sent fans into a frenzy, but we learn from the premiere of season 12 that he survived his injury.

Mouch may be out of the woods now, but another veteran firefighter’s life is on the line with Hermann saving the firehouse from an explosive device. He survived the explosion but there seems to be dangerous repercussions that would impact his physical and mental state going forward.

With Chicago Fire Season 12, the fearless firefighters continue to risk their lives on a daily basis, coming across massive dangers and tragedies that only the men and women of Firehouse 51 are familiar with (the death of veteran firefighter Andrew Darden in the first season still haunts them).

It’s also worth noting that while the Chicago Fire is a suspense-packed series, its central themes are ones founded on heroism, friendship, and loyalty with these everyday heroes committed to one of the world’s noblest professions.

Meanwhile, Taylor Kinney’s (Lieutenant Kelly Severide) absence in season 11 had fans wondering about his future in One Chicago, but the premiere of season 12 just confirmed that he’s back. Gallo (Alberto Rosende), on the other hand, left the series in the season 12 premiere.
