Based on the My Lady Jane book, this new period comedy will stream exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, a streaming service that’s part of the larger Amazon Prime. New customers can test run the service for 30 days free. After that, the monthly plan is $9.99/month, or save a little with the annual plan at $79.

In addition to offering third-party content, Amazon Prime is no stranger to big streaming productions with originals like Reacher, The Rings of Power, Citadel, The Boys, and more. As of this writing, Prime has only one streaming tier which allows up to three concurrent streaming and 4K video quality on selected titles.

Since there’s only one option, all these features are included in the $9.99 monthly plan, or $79 plan if you want to pre-pay, making Prime Video one of the cheapest services in Australia.

When noblewoman Lady Jane is unexpectedly crowned Queen of England overnight, she is instantly catapulted into the nasty world of politics, making her the target of villainous conspiracies.

But while the real Lady Jane didn’t survive her harrowing ordeal, tragically remembered for her death rather than her life, the Lady Jane in this story does.

In this alternate version of history, not only does she save herself from her terrifying destiny, she also saves the kingdom from imminent doom, plus a few more twists and turns like finding true love and experiencing life in all its forms.

The upcoming show is the first in a series of six young adult books, The Lady Janies, penned by co-authors Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows. Adapting it for the small screen is Gemma Burgess, who wrote the screenplay, with Jamie Babbit directing episodes and Paula McBreen serving as producer.
