Joining The CW’s Arrowverse, The Flash is a spin-off of Arrow that centres on the titular character and his civilian identity Barry Allen. Prior to the catastrophic accident in Central City that gave him his superpowers, Allen was a crime scene investigator. After becoming The Flash, he continues his crime-centric work, only this time he uses his speed force to fight crime and also stop metahumans (others who have gained superhuman abilities as a result of the accident) from wreaking havoc.

Barry Allen had a horrifying childhood with his mother’s murder and his innocent father going to jail for the crime. Terrified and alone, Allen vows to uncover the truth about the horrible fate that befell his family, becoming a crime scene investigator in his later life. His resolve to seek the truth about his mother’s mysterious death drives him to investigate every new scientific advancement and urban legend.
When a supposedly world-changing invention, a particle accelerator, explodes at the S.T.A.R. Labs and causes a freak storm, Allen was one of the casualties. But when he wakes up from a coma after nine months, he discovers his life is changed forever with his newfound super-human speed.
Now fighting crimes as The Flash, he dedicates himself to protecting Central City. He also finds himself dealing with metahumans who only use their powers to inflict harm and serve their wicked purpose. Helping him in his mission is Team Flash, currently consisting of Iris West-Allen, Joe West, and Cecile Horton. Newcomers Allegra Garcia and Chester P. Runk were introduced in the sixth season and have been part of the team since then.
Developed by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, and Geoff Johns, The Flash is based on the DC Comics character of the same name with Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment collaborating.
The Flash Season 9 release date
The Flash Season 9 premiered on Foxtel on 9 February 2023. New episodes rolled out weekly on Foxtel and Foxtel Now every Thursday at 8.30 pm. Consisting of 13 episodes, it concluded on 25 May 2023.
After streaming on demand on Foxtel, it’s worth noting that Flash Season 9 is no longer available on the platform. Fans who haven’t seen the final season will have to wait for the ninth season’s release on Stan, which also currently airs The Flash Season 1-8.

Where to watch The Flash Season 9 in Australia?
To watch The Flash, Australia has Foxtel and Foxtel Now streaming the final season from 9 February 2023 to 25 May 2023. As of this writing, however, The Flash Season 9 is not available on any paid streaming platforms, except pay per view services.
Since Stan currently offers Seasons 1-8 of The Flash, it’s likely for The Flash Season 9 to drop on the service any time soon. To watch the last instalment, you can always rent the entire season on Apple TV, Microsoft, Fetch, and Telstra TV Box Office.

Grant Gustin headlines the series as its lead protagonist, alongside starring cast members Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, and Jesse L. Martin. All have been part of the show since the original on October launched on TV. Previous notable characters in the series were Carlos Valdes as Cisco Ramon and Tom Cavanagh as Eobard Thawne and Reverse Flash (his last appearance was in The Flash Season 8). Danielle Nicolet also starred as Cecile Horton (guest season 1, recurring seasons 3-4).
