The new series from Channel 4 and HBO follows former Scotland Yard detective Millie Black (Tamara Lawrance), who returns to Kingston and investigates disappearances with her partner Curtis (Gershwyn Eustache Jnr). She also attempts to rebuild her relationship with her estranged brother, to no avail.

The disappearance of a young girl named Janet in particular, turns out to be a part of something bigger, bringing Scotland Yard detective Luke Holborn (Joe Dempsie) to Kingston. Millie’s top suspect in the girl’s disappearance happens to be Luke’s person of interest for a different case. As their investigation deepens, secrets unravel, destructively upending the lives of everyone involved.

Get Millie Black is created by author Marlon James in his television debut. Episodes are directed by Tanya Hamilton. James also executive produced the series with Simon Maxwell, Leopoldo Gout, and Jami O’Brien.
