Walt, a barista at a college bookshop, has no desire to discover and explore more. He also doesn’t have any problems with living a solitary existence. That is until he meets Sophie, a college student going to Mars to be with her boyfriend. When Walt sneaks onboard the space shuttle heading for a colonised Mars, Sophie helps him hide and then blend in order to make it on the red planet without getting caught.
A romantic comedy with a sci-fi twist, Moonshot follows Walt and Sophie on a space journey of a lifetime to reunite with their significant others, only to find that journeying off course is the truest and the most fulfilling of all adventures. It’s directed by Chris Winterbauer, written by Max Taxe, and stars rising actors Cole Sprouse (Riverdale) and Lana Condor (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) as lead characters.
