Australia’s The Office will be headlined by a female lead with Felicity Ward playing Hannah Howard, the managing director of a packaging company called Flinley Craddick.

When Head Office announces that her branch will be shutting down to pave the way for a permanent work-from-home arrangement, she responds by making promises she can’t keep.

All she really wants is to bring back the glory days of office-based hustling, but it’s proving to be a challenge, especially when the employees themselves aren’t so thrilled about leaving their homes to work.

News of an Australian version of The Office with a female lead started as early as 2022. It was later confirmed by Prime Video in early 2023 with Ward as lead.

The Office Australia is now the thirteenth remake globally and marks the first time that a female lead is stepping into the role created by Ricky Gervais.
