Finally, a documentary feature revisiting the biggest outdoor party to have ever graced the world, Fatboy Slim’s Big Beach Boutique II, is coming to Australia next week. On July 13, 2002, Fatboy Slim headlined the Big Beach Boutique II event. Expected to amass 40,000 people, 250,000 partygoers ended up attending the free event on Brighton beach, a turnout that broke multiple records and made it the largest outdoor event ever seen in the UK. Dropping on streaming in May, find out how to watch the documentary online using this guide.

What’s in this Guide?

First released via Sky Documentaries in the UK last February, the new documentary recounts such a seismic event and its release this year marks two decades since the event took place. Fatboy Slim, AKA Norman Cook, is featured in the film, which also comprises more interviews and original footage from the event.

Amongst those interviewed offering first-hand accounts are actors Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, John Simm, TV presenter Vernon Kay, and Mixmag’s Managing Director Nick Stevenson.

More than revisiting the infamous gig, Right Here Right Now also showcases a a story told in full, delving into both the process and hurdles, as well as the immense challenges that the local police went through to manage the gigantic crowd as thousands flock to the beach.

While Fatboy Slim’s Big Beach Boutique II was a record-breaking outdoor party, it also changed the way UK events were run forever, with the government imposing a country wide ban on non-ticketed events.
