The Infernal Machine is a thrilling film by writer and director Andrew Hunt. Based on The Hilly Earth Society by Louis Kornfeld, The Infernal Machine brings you on a journey of mystery and psychological suspense brought to life by an impressive cast, including Guy Pearce, Alice Eve, Jeremy Davies, and Alex Pettyfer.

The film follows Bruce Cogburn, a reclusive and controversial author who’s drawn out of hiding after he starts to receive endless letters from an obsessive fan. Bruce searches for the person behind the cryptic messages and soon encounters leads behind the manipulation and mental torture he endures. Along the way, he discovers that things are not always what they seem and past deeds are bound to always have consequences.

What’s in this Guide?

This new Guy Pearce-starrer is a psychological thriller narrating the story of a reclusive and controversial author, Bruce Cogburn. After accomplishing his bestseller decades earlier with his first book, The Infernal Machine, and deciding to go into a hiding when the book caused an unimaginable tragedy, Cogburn must once again confront a seemingly inescapable past when an obsessive fan begins writing him letters.

This film then takes you on an emotional roller coaster ride through Cogburn’s dark past and its dire consequences. As cryptic messages and mental torment draw him out of hiding, Cogburn’s search for the truth leads him into a dangerous labyrinth. With events set in motion by the famed book he wrote years ago, Cogburn finds himself trapped in a new reality that’s filled with fear and danger.
