In this prequel to the 2009 psychological horror feast Orphan, Esther’s chilling saga of terror and manipulation continues with Orphan: First Kill. The latest instalment will be a revelation to audiences, seeing how it begins for the terrifying villain pretending to be a hapless child in the first film.

In Orphan: First Kill, Leena Klammer, also known as Esther, pulls off a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility. Having a remarkable knack for deceit, she makes her way to the States and dupes a wealthy family into believing that she’s their long-lost daughter.

What’s in this Guide?

In the first film, Leena Klammer was revealed to be a deranged woman in her 30s pretending to be a nine-year old girl. A medical condition stunted her physical growth, allowing her to orchestrate her deceit. Now horror fans will be able to see how it begins for the murderous ‘child’, joining families and hell-bent on destroying them.

Orphan: First Kill follows Leena Klammer, who, after escaping from a psychiatric facility, pretends to be a wealthy family’s missing daughter in America. Ecstatic to discover that their ‘daughter’ is alive, Allen and Tricia Albright welcome ‘Esther’ back. However, as Orphan fans already know, Esther is full-on bad news.

Meanwhile, an unexpected twist arises when she messes with the wrong mother, who will tenaciously protect her family at all costs. Directed by William Brent Bell, Orphan: First Kill finally arrives more than ten years after the first movie. Isabelle Fuhrman reprises her role as Esther, although the production team used a combination of makeup and forced perspective shots to allow her to portray the character again.
