Stephen King’s classic novel Salem’s Lot is getting a feature film adaptation and it’s set to debut straight on streaming TV.

The producers of “The Conjuring” universe and “It” movies reunite to bring the 1975 horror novel Salem’s Lot to life. While this isn’t the first adaptation, it’s the first time in twenty years that we’re returning to the creepy world of Jerusalem’s Lot after it was adapted for television in 2004.

Confirmed to stream this week in Australia, here’s everything to know about the new movie.

The new Salem’s Lot movie is heading straight to streaming TV. It’s confirmed to premiere on BINGE, Thursday, 3 October, then on Friday, 4 October at 8.30pm on Foxtel and simultaneously on Foxtel Now.

Salem’s Lot follows author Ben Mears (Lewis Pullman), who returns to his hometown, Jerusalem Lot, in search of inspiration for a new story. However, he might need to put his writing on hold considering the residents of the town are starting to turn into vampires.

Prior to getting a movie adaptation that’s set to premiere on Max, Salem’s Lot was made into a miniseries twice before, in 1979 and 2004. Meanwhile, the upcoming 2024 movie is written and directed by Gary Dauberman. Acting as producers for the film are James Wan, Michael Clear, Roy Lee, and Mark Wolper.
