Longlegs: Streaming date and where to watch in Australia

Modern scream queen Maika Monroe stars in Longlegs, another smash-hit horror thriller opposite Nicolas Cage. 

Newly-recruited FBI agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is assigned to decades-long cases of murder suicides involving families. Her frightening pursuit of the truth, however, only leads to the discovery that she has a deep-rooted connection with the serial killer behind the gruesome crimes. 

With Longlegs streaming in Australia, here’s everything to know about the horror genre’s latest showpiece.  

The new horror film premiered in Australian theatres on 18 July. It was initially released by Neon in the US on 12 July. It stunned with a $22.6 million debut, becoming Neon’s biggest opening weekend ever. 

For streaming at home, you can finally watch Longlegs from Tuesday, 10 December on Prime Video, then later on Friday, 13 December on BINGE and Foxtel.

You can stream the movie at home on BINGE and Foxtel. When watching using the latter service, the film specifically debuts on Movies Premiere. You’ll have to check the Longlegs showtimes using the Foxtel TV guide to plan your viewing. You can catch it first on Foxtel on Friday at 8.30pm.

Another option for streaming Longlegs in Australia is Foxtel’s streaming service, Foxtel Now, which still offers a free 10-day trial for new customers. Lee Harker is a rookie FBI agent whose potential clairvoyance results in her taking on a decades-spanning case involving families in murder-suicides. The serial killer behind the vicious crimes leaves a series of occult clues, which Lee must decipher to end his brutal killing spree.

As her harrowing investigation deepens, Lee’s shocking personal connection to the killer is revealed, culminating to a disturbing truth that the rookie agent will have to deal with in order to survive.

The horror film is written and directed by Osgood Perkins, while Dan Kagan, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Dave Caplan, Chris Ferguson, and Nicolas Cage, who plays the titular role, serve as producers. 

Since its release, the Longlegs review has been positive, with critics leaving an accumulated 86% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Audiences’ responses, on the other hand, are mixed.

Maika Monroe, who has starred in other acclaimed horror films like It Follows, The Guest, and Watcher, plays the lead role of Lee Harker.

Starring alongside her are Nicolas Cage as the titular serial killer (and delivering Longlegs’ face), Blair Underwood as Lee’s superior Agent Carter, and Alicia DeWitt as Lee’s religious mother Ruth Harker.
