Willis Wu (Jimmy O. Yang) is a struggling Asian American actor who can’t seem to get his acting break. Longing to play roles that matter, he is, instead, stuck playing background roles in a police procedural called Black & White.

Amidst the tedious conundrum of his ordinary life, he wants nothing else in the world but to be the “Kung Fu Guy” in the story; not “Background Oriental Male”, not the delivery guy, but the one who knows Kung Fu and executes it flawlessly when thugs come looking for trouble.

It all changes when he witnesses a crime, after which he becomes embroiled in Chinatown’s criminal underground. All of a sudden, he’s working with Detective Lana Lee (Chloe Bennet) to solve murders in Chinatown, which, in the process, leads him to discover some shocking secrets that involve his family. With all the chaos he’s entangled himself in, will he finally use his Kung Fu skills?

The series adaptation of Interior Chinatown is created by the author himself, Charles Yu. He also serves as one of the executive producers alongside Dan Lin, Lindsey Liberatore, Elsie Choi, Jeff Skoll, Miura Kite, Garrett Basch, and Taika Waititi, who directed the first episode.
