The Expendables 4: TV release date and where to watch in Australia

Published On

May 1, 2024

Nearly ten years after The Expendables 3 was released, Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, and Randy Couture all return for the latest The Expendables 4 (officially titled Expend4bles). The fourth instalment in The Expendables franchise also features new team members, bringing Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Megan Fox, Jacob Scipio, Levy Tran, and Andy Garcia into the fold.

In the new film, Statham’s Lee Christmas (who needs better friends) reunites with his co-The Expendables Barney Ross (Stallone), Gunner Jensen (Lundgren), and Toll Road (Couture) for a world-saving mission. As they confront new villains with a penchant for war and chaos, they’re also introduced to new comrades. Together, they risk their lives in their all-out effort to save the world one bad guy at a time.

The latest The Expendables film will be streaming in Australia via BINGE, Foxtel (including Foxtel Now), and Amazon Prime Video, following in the footsteps of earlier movies.

Prior to become available on subscription streaming, Lionsgate initially released the movie on digital platforms, making it available for rent or purchase on Apple TV, Google Play, and other similar services.

For streaming The Expendables 4 in Australia, BINGE will screen the action-packed thriller starting May 13, 2024. Fortunately, the service still offers a 7 day free trial for new customers to explore heaps of blockbuster movies and TV shows before signing up.

You can then choose from three streaming tiers to watch BINGE movies on demand. A Basic with Ads plan costs $10 per month and allows you to stream in HD on one device. An ad-free Standard Plan is $18 per month and enables you to enjoy standard or high definition or 4K on two devices.

The BINGE Premium Plan ($22 per month) is the last alternative, allowing you to stream on up to four screens/devices in HD or 4K. All BINGE plans come with no lock-in contract so you can cancel anytime.

Expend4bles will also be available to watch on Foxtel, specifically launching on Movies Premiere on May 18.

To access Movies Premiere, you’ll need to add the Movies bundle. This gives you access to over 70+ channels included on the base package (Foxtel Plus), then 9 movie channels covered by the Movies pack.

You can also watch Expend4bles in Australia when you sign up for Foxtel’s online streaming service, through Foxtel Now, which still offers a free 10-day trial for new customers.

Foxtel Now even offers special deals to access everything on its platform with monthly discounts, and there’s no lock-in contract so you can cancel anytime. You’ll also need to get the Movies pack on top of the base Essentials bundle to access movies channels on Foxtel Now.

Another alternative for streaming The Expendables 4 in Australia is Prime Video, a streaming service that’s part of the larger Amazon Prime. New customers can test run the service for 30 days free. After that, the monthly plan is $9.99/month, or save a little with the annual plan at $79.

In addition to well-made original shows, Amazon Prime is no stranger to big movie productions with originals like Road House, Air, Being the Ricardos, The Tomorrow War and more movies to stream.

Prime has only one streaming tier which allows up to three concurrent streaming and 4K video quality on selected titles. Since there’s only one option, all these features are included in the $9.99 monthly plan.

After failing a crucial mission in Libya, a mission that also left The Expendables in shambles, Christmas becomes hellbent on taking revenge and finishing the job, tracking mercenary Suarto Rahmat and mysterious terrorist Ocelot. There’s just one issue: CIA operative Marsh excluded him from the team, deeming him responsible for compromising their initial mission.

Enter new team members to stop Ocelot from detonating nuclear weapons that could instigate World War III. When the team hunting Rahmat and Ocelot are ambushed and taken hostage, Christmas recruits former member-turned-pacifist Decha to help him save the team. With the “old blood” joining forces with the “new blood”, the bad guys may have their fair share of victories, but not for long.

The Expendables 4 is directed by Scott Waugh from a screenplay written by Kurt Wimmer, Tad Daggerhart, and Max Adams. Unlike the three previous films, Stallone didn’t co-write The Expendables 4. The Rocky star, who has a lustrious acting career since the 1970s, initially quit the franchise before later returning to reprise his role.
