How to watch Saw X in Australia

October 2, 2023

With Saw X now showing in cinemas in Australia, you might need a refresher since the latest Saw film is the direct sequel to the first movie and a prequel to Saw II. Here, you’ll find out how to watch earlier Saw movies online, as well as learn more information about Saw X, including release date, cast details, plot, and where it might be streaming after its theatrical run.

In Saw X, the infamous serial killer returns with Tobin Bell reprising his iconic role. Learning that he only has months to live due to brain cancer, the sick and desperate John travels to Mexico after being told that an experimental medical procedure has been successful in curing another terminally ill patient. Hoping that a miracle cure really exists, he agrees to undergo a surgery, only to learn that the entire operation was a scam.

Tricking a man adept at arranging ingenious and terrifying traps into believing that he beat cancer becomes an unfortunate turn of events for those who orchestrated the deception. As such, Saw X is also a revenge tale, sharing with fans the untold chapter of Jigsaw’s most personal game.

Saw X is directed by Kevin Greutert from a screenplay by Peter Goldfinger and Josh Stolberg.

Ten movies in and the Saw franchise still succeeds to deliver gripping suspense and fresh gore. A social commentary at its core, it follows serial killer John “Jigsaw” Kramer, who, after his struggle with brain cancer and a suicide attempt, finds appreciation for life.

While this is supposed to be a good thing, he decides that his newfound purpose is to abduct people and force them to inflict unimaginable pain upon themselves. He believes that by setting up traps and compelling people to fight for their lives, he’s reminding them of life’s purest value. And so the horrors begin.

Saw X is likely to drop on streaming TV months from being shown in the theatres, but we’ve yet to confirm which platform will offer the film. As for what streamer it’ll come to, our best bet is pay TV service Foxtel and BINGE, seeing that the film will be distributed by Lionsgate.

If so, it only follows in the footstep of the previous instalment Spiral: From the Book of Saw, as well as other Lionsgate titles that are currently available to watch on the aforementioned platforms.

To reduce your waiting time, you can always rent or buy the movie once it becomes available on pay per view platforms like Apple TV, Google Play, and Prime Video Store.

The first movie, Saw, was released in 2004. Nine movies have since followed with Saw X being the tenth and current instalment. The franchise is created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell. Nine of the ten films mainly focus on twisted serial killer John “Jigsaw” Kramer, while one film (Spiral) is about a copycat killer.
