Julia (2022 TV series) preview

Julia provides insight into the life and work of Julia Child during a time in American history where social movements like feminism was shifting and cultural evolution was in full swing. It also delves into Julia Child’s surprising path that ultimately led her to become a legendary cookbook author and TV personality.

Along with mouth watering food cinematography, cutting edge storytelling, and an ensemble cast, Julia is the perfect blend of comedy and drama that will grace your streaming screens next month. Created by Daniel Goldfarb, it is produced by Lionsgate and 3 Arts Entertainment for HBO Max. The pilot episode was directed by Charles McDougall.

In Julia Season 2, Julia (Sarah Lancashire) enjoys her newfound stardom although her massive success on television might also bring complications. To find answers, she must find out what her celebrity status really means to her and her colleagues.

Kickstarting the new season, Julia and her husband, Paul (David Hyde Pierce), returns to France to work on her next cookbook and visit her co-author Simca, played by Isabella Rossellini. But their visit is not without surprises as they realise how her success has changed everything.

Agreeing to return for another season of The French Chef, Julia is set to take on the White House, a threat from the past, and navigate the unpaved roads of WGBH to lead a female-driven national show.

This series from HBO is about the life of famous chef, Julia Child, and not to be confused with the 1968 series of the same name, which also made a mark on TV as being headlined by an African-American woman in a non-stereotypical role. It starred Diahann Carroll as Julia Baker and Lloyd Nolan.
