Dedicated doctors, nurses, and staff of the fictional The Gaffney Chicago Medical Center deal with unimaginable challenges daily as they do everything they can to mitigate emergencies and ultimately save their patients. As the best in the city, they also use their topnotch knowledge and skills, partnered with exceptional intuition, to solve medical crises in astonishingly unique ways.

The original team consisted of doctors Daniel Charles, Connor Rhodes, Sarah Reese, Ethan Choi, Will Halstead, Ava Bekker (joined in the third season), and Natalie Manning; nurses April Sexton and Maggie Lockwood; and Chief of Patient and Medical Services Sharon Goodwin.

Many of the show’s original cast members have since departed the series, including Nick Gehlfuss’ Dr. Halstead and Brian Tee’s Dr. Choi, who were confirmed to leave after eight seasons on the show. Yaya DaCosta’s April Sexton also left after six seasons, Torrey DeVitto’s Dr. Manning left after Chicago Med Season 7, and Colin Donnell’s Dr. Rhodes said goodbye to the show after Chicago Med Season 5.

While many of these major character exits surprised fans, it’s also expected for long-running shows like Chicago Med to have its cast changed drastically through the years.

Main cast who’s still part of the series are Marlyne Barrett’s Maggie Lockwood and Dominic Rains’ Dr. Crockett Marcel (joined in Chicago Med Season 5). New characters have also been recently introduced, including Dr. Hannah Asher (Jessy Schram) and former police officer-turned pediatrician Dr. Dylan Scott (Guy Lockard), who we first met in Chicago Med Season 7.

Chicago Med is the third instalment of Wolf Entertainment’s Chicago franchise, after Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. Broadcast on NBC in the US, the drama franchise has since maintained solid ratings and high viewership, a testament to its dedicated global fanbase.
