OVOPlay - Sports and Entertainment #FortheFans
Ever since OVO Mobile branched out and launched their very own streaming service, OVOPlay, it has now grown to deliver some of the premiere entertainment and sporting events that you wouldn't be able to catch or stream anywhere else. Best of all, they've made it so much more accessible than other providers by offering live and on demand content that rewards you with extra data. Even with amaysim acquiring OVO, access to OVOPlay remains but with some changes.
OVOPlay started as a streaming service that delivers "out of the ordinary" sporting events. In the beginning, there was just a handful of sports in their library, which included motorsport racing, water polo, college rugby, gymnastics, and so on. But since its launch, it has managed to garner a solid fanbase as they expanded the range of sports that they cover, as well as other forms of entertainment such as podcasts and live radio.
Compared to other bigger and more known sports streaming providers like Foxtel and Kayo Sports, OVOPlay delivers sporting events that aren't usually covered nor aired by mainstream media. This allows them to target certain niche audiences - certified fans and followers of that certain sport, league, or tournament - and helps OVOPlay stand on its own despite tough competition in the already populated streaming industry.
To this day, OVOPlay has partnered with more premiere sporting leagues, which include the Badminton World Federation, Chinese Super League, and Aussie Pro Wrestling. All matches from these sporting tournaments will be made available live and on demand and can be easily accessed regardless if you're an active OVO Mobile subscriber or not.
What Sport Does OVOPlay Offer?
On top of the more premium leagues like Aussie Pro Wrestling and Badminton World Federation, OVOPlay is home to a varied range of sporting events that you can tune in to. This list includes the Australian E Sports League (AEL), 400 Thunder Australian Professional Drag Racing Series, Brumbies Rugby, Badminton Australia, Gymnastics Australia, Formula Drift, Water Polo Australia, and more.
It's important to note, however, that not all of these events are available to stream instantly. OVOPlay has also now categorised some of the sporting channels to be Premium and can only be accessed through a Fan Pass. For a complete list of sports on OVOPlay, check out the list below:

OVOPlay Plans and Pricing
When it comes to plans and pricing, OVOPlay offers three options: Starter, Live, and Live-Plus. Both the Starter and Live are for free - with the difference being that you'll have to create and register an account on OVO for Live. For Starter, you'll just need to start streaming using the browser or the app to get access to on-demand content on Standard Definition. If you go for Live, you can get access to on-demand content, plus live streaming sport in HD quality and the option to screen cast. When it comes to Live-Plus, it does require you to sign up for any OVO Mobile prepaid plan in order to stream on OVOPlay.
All of these three plans do require a Fan Pass if you intend to stream Premium channels like the Chinese Super League. You can choose from three Fan Pass options: Event Pass (valid for 7 days), 3 Month Pass, and the 12 Month Pass. It's completely up to you whether you want to tune in to just one match or event over the weekend - or really tune in to all matches of any or all Premium sporting leagues throughout the year.
Important note: In line with amaysim acquiring OVO's customer base, customers can still use their OVOPlay account with your login details unaffected. Any fan pass access will also be unchanged. However, OVO Time will no longer be available.
Stream OVOPlay with OVO Mobile
What’s great about OVOPlay is that it doesn’t even require you to subscribe to any plan or subscription at all in order to start streaming what they have on offer. However, it does give customers an even better streaming value when you sign up for any of OVO Mobile’s prepaid plans. Not only do you get huge amount of data across all of OVO’s prepaid plans, but each plan also comes with easy streaming of OVOPlay.
You can sign up for as low as $9.95/30 days with OVO’s MINI Plan, which already gives you (or your kids) 2GB data plus 500 minutes of standard calls in Australia. Our best pick, however, would be OVO’s Medium and Large plans - both of which deliver amazing value with its data and given its price. The OVO Medium comes with 30GB data plus unlimited calls and texts, as well as 100 international minutes. Meanwhile, the Large plan offers a whopping 35GB data for only a $5 increase from the Medium plan, and comes with 600 international minutes. If you happen to be a big streamer, these plans would certainly give you the value you want for your money - not to mention, OVOPlay streaming!
Important note: OVO no longer sells the prepaid plans mentioned above. Existing OVO services will be transferred to amaysim with changes on prices and inclusions.
OVOPlay Review
When mobile provider OVO launched, they got immediate attention for their well-priced prepaid plans as well as the perks that come along with them - access to a unique streaming service called OVOPlay being one of them. Now, a greatly expanded and enhanced OVOPlay is available to anyone to download, and data-free for existing OVO customers.
