From the producers of The Office comes a genre-bending comedy series following a jury trial through the eyes of one particular juror, Ronald Gladden. But get this – the entire case is fictitious and all jurors he thinks are serving jury duty with him are actors, including James Marsden, who plays an alternate version of himself.

With brilliant comedic performers working together at a pretend American jury trial and one clueless guy, this documentary-style series aptly titled Jury Duty is soon to be a gold mine of pure comedy.

What’s in this Guide?

In the new Jury Duty TV series, the most outlandish moments happen inside and outside the courtroom, everything of which is scripted. According to executive producer Todd Schulman, Jury Duty originated from the wildly inventive idea of making a mockumentary like The Office, but revolving around a trial.

With this, the upcoming comedy series will chronicle the inner workings of a jury trial through the lens of Gladden, a solar contractor from San Diego. A dutiful juror, he’s oblivious that the entire case is not an official jury duty summons and everyone except him is an actor. How will he respond when the most outrageous things happen in something as seemingly mundane as jury duty?

Co-creators Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky and showrunner Cody Heller hope audiences will be delighted by what the series portrays about humanity with an unlikely hero’s journey at the centre.
