The 2025 NRL season is set to commence on March 2, 2025, featuring 27 rounds where each of the 17 teams will play 24 matches and receive three byes. The Finals Series is scheduled to begin in early September, culminating in the NRL Grand Final on October 5, 2025, at Accor Stadium in Sydney.

In a broadcasting deal that extends until the end of 2027, the Australian TV rights for Melbourne Storm games and 2025 NRL season are exclusively held by Foxtel and Channel Nine.

Channel Nine will continue to broadcast up to three live games a week, as well as an additional live Saturday night match during the last five regular season rounds. But, all of these matches will also be available on Foxtel/Kayo.

Channel Nine does. however, have exclusive live TV rights to the State of Origin series and the 2025 Grand Final.

As for the Storm, the Nine Network will carry about thirteen of their matches live on channel Nine and the 9Now streaming platform. Unfortunately though, this is far less than the total games Melbourne will be playing.

For comparison, Foxtel and its broadcast partner Kayo Sports, will be televising every game in every round live, with no ad-breaks during play.

That’s a total of 204 matches, as well as every Melbourne Storm home and away game available to watch Live. The matches will be carried on the 24/7 dedicated Fox League channel, where the programming is formatted for 4K Ultra HD.

Kayo Sports gives you access to the same NRL broadcasts as Fox League. Specifically, every game of every round LIVE with no ad-breaks during play. This way you can stream the Melbourne Storm live or on-demand.

New subscribers can stream Melbourne Storm games on Kayo with a 7-day free trial. Kayo doesn’t have a lock-in contract or equipment fees. This means you can cancel anytime if you’re no longer using it.

With Kayo Sports, you can stream using a wide range of eligible devices. Devices available to Kayo users include select PCs, Macs, iOS and Android phones and tablets and more.

For fans who want to catch up on the action, Kayo Minis provide a 10-20 minute recap after the final whistle has been blown.

Other Kayo features include Interactive Graphics, SplitView, No Spoilers and Key Moments, which provide highlights throughout matches in real-time.

Fox League can be accessed via Foxtel and Foxtel Now. To watch on Foxtel with a Standard or HD TV, you have several choices. They include subscribing to the Foxtel Plus pack to access over 50 channels of sport, entertainment, drama, and more.

You also have the choice to watch the Melbourne Storm online using Foxtel Now. Foxtel Now currently offers a 10-day free trial. This option also includes the ability to stream the NRL using the Foxtel Go app.

As well every Storm match available live and on replay, Foxtel Now has a wide range of NRL programming. Among the most popular include NRL Tonight, NRL 360 and the Late Show with Matty Johns.

Fox League comes as part of the Foxtel Now Sports Pack ($29 per month). The Sports Pack must be purchased on top of an Essentials Pack ($25 per month), after any free trial have expired.

The Nine Network, better known as Channel 9, is the official NRL free to air broadcaster. As such, Channel Nine will show a select number of Melbourne Storm matches live during the 2023 Premiership season.

That’s because under the newest NRL broadcasting agreement, Nine could only secure three live games a week during the first 22 rounds. Then, in rounds 23-27, Nine will have up to four live matches.

As a consolation, Nine does have exclusive TV rights to the State of Origin series, and the NRL Grand Final.
