How to watch UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 championship
The UEFA Women’s Euro championship kicks off on 6 July 2022 and will be played at stadiums around the UK that are home to some of the biggest teams in world football, including venues in London (Wembley and Brentford), Brighton (Hove Community Stadium) and Sheffield (Bramall Lane).
The football association of England was the only country to submit an application to host the tournament and was confirmed to be awarded the event in December 2018.
There will be multiple ways to watch the UEFA Women’s Euro championship, with the primary provider for Australian viewers being Optus Sport.

UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 Preview
One of the biggest tournaments in women’s football arrives this July with the group matches getting underway from the 6th of July, with the final coming a few weeks later on the 31st of July.
It’s set to be an intriguing tournament when it comes around with plenty to talk about. The Netherlands are the reigning champions after winning for the first time in 2017 – defeating Denmark in the final – and Northern Ireland will be appearing at the Women’s Euro Championship for the first time.
While it was originally scheduled to host 16 teams, Russia’s national team have since been suspended due to the Ukraine invasion. It is not yet known whether the Russian team will be replaced or if the competition will continue with 15 teams.

There will be 10 venues in use during the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 tournament in the UK, with the first games kicking off at the same time on day one of the event in Manchester and Southampton.

Teams to watch
With the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 set to be one of the biggest and most-watched events in women’s football, there’s plenty of stars and teams to keep an eye on when the group stage gets underway in July.
England
The host nation will be looking to mark their warm welcome from home fans with a first UEFA Women’s Euro title when the tournament gets underway. Having come runners up in 2009, their best result in the Euros, England have reached the semi final of the last 3 major tournaments but will hope to take their first major crown this summer. With a new head coach at the helm – Sarina Weigman, who won the 2019 tournament as head coach of the Netherlands – England will be aiming to win the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 on home soil.
Netherlands
The reigning champions may have lost their head coach to the host nation, but will still be hotly tipped when the group matches kick off in July. The team are currently ranked number 5 in the world and have since reached the final of the women’s football World Cup, being eventual runners-up to champions USA. Maybe their experience in recent major championships will take them all the way once again.
Sweden
The highest ranked team in this year’s competition, second to only USA in the world rankings, Sweden always have a strong squad of players but haven’t won the major tournament in Europe since 1984 – something they’ll be hoping to do this time around. Their tournament kicks off in Sheffield on 9 July against reigning champions Netherlands.
Germany
Multiple-times Euro Champions Germany can never be written off, having won the tournament more times than any other nation – a record 8 times, but not since 2013. Currently ranked 4th in the world, the German team will be looking to head back to the pinnacle of Europe when they kick off their group stage against Denmark at the Brentford Community Stadium.
