Watch Rugby Union in Australia
Rugby Union Season 2021 Preview
A major shake-up in Australian broadcasting rights means that both domestic and international Rugby Union games will be available to watch live across several platforms from 2021. Find out how to watch Rugby Union live here.
From Super Rugby and the Rugby Championship in the Southern Hemisphere to the Six Nations and European Champions Cup further North, you won’t want to miss a minute.
Super Rugby will look very different in 2021. First of all, there will be three separate competitions featuring sides from both Australia and New Zealand. Both Super Rugby AU and Super Rugby Aotearoa will return between February and May. This is all before a combined Trans-Tasman Super Rugby competition between all 10 sides from Australia and New Zealand from May to June.
Six Nations and Champions Cup
During spring there will also be plenty of rugby in the Northern Hemisphere. The 2021 Six Nations gets underway in February, with defending champions England expecting a close battle with a rapidly improving French side. The European Champions Cup, featuring the best domestic teams from Ireland, England, France and Wales will also enter the knockout stages from April.
The 2021 Rugby Championship always brings the rugby season to a thrilling climax. There are high hopes that World Champions South Africa will be back for this year’s edition, alongside the Wallabies, the All Blacks and the Pumas. Southern Hemisphere rugby may just be about to go through another golden period in terms of just how closely matched each team is, making things all the more mouthwatering.
World Sevens Series
Although there is no set date as of yet, the 2021 World Series is expected to arrive soon. Once these dates are confirmed, this guide will be updated, so that you can watch the best men’s and women’s Sevens teams play at venues around the globe.
