From the creators of Frozen comes another animated fantasy adventure, the Wish movie, following a 17-year-old girl making a wish so powerful that an actual star falls from the sky.
With her kingdom’s ruler showing his true face as a tyrant who values power more than his people, the fate of her kingdom now rests on her shoulders. Luckily, she has an actual, magical star to help her thwart the king’s plan, who turns to dark magic to cement his power.
If you’ve missed Wish during its cinematic run, or just want to rewatch it at home, Walt Disney’s new movie has been confirmed to make its Disney+ debut in April.

To watch the Wish movie in Australia, Disney Plus has been confirmed to stream the animated film from 3 April. New customers can choose between the monthly and the yearly plan to start watching Disney Plus movies. It’s worth noting that the free trial is no longer offered.

What is the plot of Wish?
FeaturedWalt Disney’s new film follows Asha (Ariana DeBose), a 17-year-old living in the kingdom of Rosas, a place where its ruler, King Magnifico (Chris Pine), has the power to grant the people’s wishes.
During an interview for an apprenticeship with the King, Asha discovers that he uses wishes to control his people after he rejects her 100-year-old grandfather’s wish to inspire others.
For the first time, Asha sees the King’s true nature: he’s not the benevolent and generous leader she thought he was. Devastated, she makes a wish the original way – on a star!
To her surprise, the actual star falls from the sky, which she also names Star. The people of Rosas sense Star’s presence, threatening Magnifico. To strengthen his power, he resorts to forbidden dark magic.
As the King’s intentions become more twisted, Asha must fight alongside Star, her family and friends, and her talking goat Valentino to stop Magnifico from destroying his own kingdom.
Wish is directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, who also developed the story alongside Jennifer Lee and Allison Moore.
