Hulu’s new historical drama delivers a haunting depiction of Holocaust from the eyes of the Kurcs, a Polish Jewish family. Before the war, the family lived in peace and thrived in their endeavours, their success protecting them from the growing anti-Semitism in the country.
But once the Germans arrive and take over, the family members are separated, finding themselves in hiding. The ones who got caught suffer terribly in concentration camps, while some who managed to flee have to leave their loved ones behind.
Based on Georgia Hunter’s bestselling novel, which is inspired by the true story of one Jewish family, the TV adaptation follows the Kurc family across continents as they refuse to give up in the face of adversity.
Even with the darkest moment of the twentieth century in their midst, the family members display an incredible act of courage and strength so that they can all survive and reunite.
The drama is created by Erica Lipez, who also serves as an executive producer for the series alongside Adam Milch and Jennifer Todd.
