After meeting on a night out at karaoke, Sammy and Tom begin a no-strings-attached fling. Thinking it’s best to leave their relationship as it is, they also decide to not take things any further.

With the pressures of modern dating very much evident, they’ve also come to a resolution that they should only be together for three weeks.

This ‘let’s stop seeing each other’ arrangement, of course, entails everything to make sure they really stop whatever relationship they have, so they also promise to never speak to each other again.

In their book, keeping things casual and following modern dating clichés are a must.

The problem is, they really want to be together for more than three weeks; they really want to keep talking; and most importantly, they secretly want to take things further.

But as it turns out, there’s another girl in Tom’s life: his six-year-old daughter Ellie. Will this discovery complicate things more or just another reason to get even closer?

Smothered is written by Monica Heisey and directed by George Belfield.
