The origin story of Velma Dinkley takes centre stage in the Velma TV series. Since Velma is often the uncelebrated member of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang, it’s high time she gets her own series.

The original Scooby-Doo series first launched in 1969. The mystery-solving gang has since been adapted for the big screen with both animated and live-action films. They’ve been even reimagined as video games.

Interestingly, this marks the first time for the characters to be in an adult-themed animated series. Returning for a brand new season, find out how you can watch Velma Season 2 in Australia.

What’s in this Guide?

Australian broadcasters for this animated series from Max are BINGE, Foxtel, and Foxtel Now, which means new episodes of Velma will only be available via the above services.

Ahead of the new season premiere, Velma Season 1 is still available on demand via BINGE. On Foxtel and Foxtel Now, you can find prior episodes airing on FOX8.

The new season of the animated series about Velma Dinkley will be available for streaming on BINGE, which also offers an extensive catalogue of content from Max alongside Foxtel. With a BINGE free trial, new customers can also test run the service before subscribing.

After your free trial period is over, there are three streaming tier plans to choose from. A Basic subscription with Ads allows you to stream BINGE shows on one device in HD. A Standard Plan enables you to enjoy your favourite shows or movies on two devices. A Premium Plan lets you stream on four simultaneously.

BINGE also offers 4K streaming now on selected content, which applies to both the Standard and Premium plans. All BINGE plans have no lock-in contract.

Another option for watching new Velma episodes is the pay TV service Foxtel, broadcasting every episode via FOX8. More than top dramas and documentaries, Foxtel also offers live TV with sports streaming and movie channels for watching blockbusters, such as the award-winning Oppenheimer and the smash-hit coming-of-age No Hard Feelings.

FOX8, the channel that airs Velma, is part of Foxtel Plus, the cheapest entertainment package that already includes the previously separate Kids and Favourites packs, increasing the channels offered to over 70. What’s more all Foxtel bundles now include the Multiscreen feature.

If you’re only after a streaming app rather than a pay TV service, all episodes are also going to be on Foxtel Now, which you can try with a free 10-day trial if signing up for the first time.

The Foxtel Now base pack called Essentials pack is only $25 per month. Premium packs like Drama Extra, Sport, and Movies can be added to your base plan if you’re looking to access more content.

The beloved mystery solvers are back, only this time their adventures are meant for adult audiences. Mindy Kaling voices the titular character, in addition to being one of the executive producers for the show.

A new addition to the iconic Scooby-Doo franchise, the Velma show revolves around the titular character and the rest of Mystery Inc. before they officially become a team.

For long-time fans of the original cartoons, Max’s Velma is a fascinating take on Mystery Inc.’s members as its humorous spin unmasks the complexities of their characters, as well as their intriguing past.

In Velma Season 2, there’s a more frightening mystery that’s set to haunt Crystal Cove. Always on top of things, the titular heroine is even more determined to get to the bottom of it.

But with her newfound celebrity status thanks to her last season’s exploits, it will be tougher for the brainiac sleuth to juggle her detective work and fame.

Meanwhile, her ever faithful friends Daphne (Constance Wu), Norville (Sam Richardson), and Fred (Glenn Howerton) can’t be much of an assistance as they sort out their own personal troubles. It also doesn’t help that the trio have made themselves detention favourites!

Velma was developed by Charlie Grandy, who also executive produced the series alongside Kaling, Howard Klein, and Sam Register.
