What is Moose Mobile?

Moose Mobile started out as a regular business. In fact, they would sell refurbished iPhones at an attractive discount. The company stayed in the iPhone-selling business for a while before moving into mobile plans.

In 2017, the company took a different direction and became the Moose Mobile we know today. The Brisbane-based network provider took on the challenge of providing value for unlimited talk, data, and mobile plans.

Their roots in selling premium phones at a discount enabled Moose to offer discounted mobile plans for the budget-conscious user. They operate on the wide-reaching Optus mobile network, offering impressive network coverage for national calls.

What does Moose offer?

Moose Mobile is no longer just a mobile-related provider since they’ve started offering their own broadband service last year. While it’s still leading the new charge with affordable SIM only mobile plans that deliver better value despite being budget-friendly, the same can be said of their unlimited broadband plans.

It’s also worth mentioning that Moose further simplified their product lineup by focusing on only SIM-only and NBN plans, all of which have no lock-in contracts. Previous listings like 12-month SIM-only and data-only plans, and even their home wireless broadband plans, are no longer available.

Moose SIM-only plans – no lock in contract

Moose Mobile SIM only plans used to start at only $8.80 per month including unlimited standard national SMS and MMS and 300 minutes standard calls in Australia. For a little bit of mobile browsing, this plan includes 1GB of data. It’s worth noting that the 8.80 plan has now been discontinued so that the $15 plan becomes the cheapest one with 6GB.

The rest of the no lock-in contract plans also include both unlimited calls, unlimited texts, as well as unlimited MMS. Data inclusions for Moose Mobile SIM-only can go up to 55GB. There’s also credit for international calls (up to $300) included on select plans.

Moose NBN – no lock in contract

Moose has now gotten into the business of providing home internet service with their new NBN offerings. There are four plans: Starter NBN (12/1Mbps) for $64.80; Lite NBN (25/5Mbps) for $69.80; Everyday NBN (50/20Mbps) for $79.80; and Family NBN (100/40 Mbps) for $94.80. These options prove to be more affordable when you compare with other NBN plans.

Moose Mobile plans – 12-month contract

While there’s a lot of people who prefer the flexibility of a month-to-month plan, signing up for a long-term plan still has its appeal, savings-wise. With the 12-month Moose Mobile plans, you get bigger data allowance at lower monthly plan fees.

If you love the service a company provides, it only makes sense to make the most of it by finding ways to save on plan fees and enjoy more inclusions. Signing up for 12 months is one of those saving options you can consider.

As of May 2022, Moose Mobile no longer offers 12-month plans.

Data only plans

Home wireless broadband

Moose has started offering broadband initially with home wireless broadband plans. There are two: 200GB and 500GB at $59 and $69 per month, respectively. If you choose to sign up for 24 months, you’ll get an included WiFi modem that’s worth $199.

Moose Mobile is unable to provide home wireless broadband plans at this time due to stock issues.

Yes. All of the mobile plans offered have unlimited calls and texts to subscribers. You not only get unlimited calls to mobile and landline numbers across the country, but also unlimited messages and MMS. The cherry on the cake is unlimited voicemail. No matter which plan you choose, unlimited voicemail is on it. 

Overall, great plans with the option for no lock in contracts. Fast speed. That is Moose Mobile in a nutshell. It is however important to note that all Moose SIM-only plans are postpaid and there aren’t any prepaid plans available. Data banking is also not available at the moment.
