Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks and House of the Dragon’s Paddy Considine star in Sky Atlantic’s new comedy drama, Small Town, Big Story.
Chris O’Dowd, best known for his roles in The IT Crowd, State of the Union, and The Big Door Prize, wrote and co-directed a brand new dramatic comedy with a fantastical twist set in a fictional Irish village.
The place, Drumbán, happens to be a small town inhabited by misfits and with a huge, shocking story to tell. What is the plot of Small Town, Big Story?
The small Irish town of Drumbán gets the intrigue and excitement of a lifetime after a Hollywood production rolls into its residents’ already secretive lives. It all begins when Wendy Patterson (Hendricks), a local girl who found success as a Los Angeles television producer, returns to her hometown after 20 years to confront the past, her film crew behind her.
She then comes face to face with Séamus Proctor (Considine), the town’s respected doctor, who harbours a big secret he has been keeping to himself since the Millennium. Wendy, however, appears to be aware of what he’s hiding. Massive secrets are spilled in the process, as the cameras start rolling and host Dylan Thuras reveals the town’s hidden wonder.
In addition to Hendricks and Considine, Small Town, Big Story also stars David Rawle, Eileen Walsh, Clarke Peters, Tim Heidecker, Leia Murphy, Patrick Martins, Evanne Kilgallon, Andrew Bennett, Ruth McCabe, David Wilmot, Michelle Forbes, Peter McGann, and Chris O’Dowd himself.
He also co-directed the series with Catherine Morshead, Mike Ahern, and Enda Loughman. Hendricks also serves as an executive producer with O’Dowd, Colin Callender, Scott Huff, Stefanie Berk, Milan Popelka, and Alex Moody.
