David Bruckner’s Hellraiser unlocks a new terrifying odyssey that sees humans-turned-monsters from hell preying on their victims in the latest Hellraiser film. It follows Riley McKendry (Odessa A’zion), a young woman struggling with addiction, who later comes across an ancient puzzle box. Initially, Riley solves the box and avoids getting cut by a blade that springs from it, summoning the Cenobites, who demand she picks a sacrifice. While she escapes a harrowing fate, her brother Matt (Brandon Flynn) is taken.
Believing that the puzzle box caused Matt’s disappearance, she investigates the box’s origins alongside her boyfriend Trevor (Drew Starkey), Matt’s boyfriend Colin (Adam Faison), and their roommate Nora (Aoife Hinds). Their discoveries lead them to a vicious, dark world with the petrifying Cenobites at the centre. Desperate to find Matt, Riley must confront the sadistic monsters and beat them no matter how impossible it seems.
The new Hellraiser movie is the second feature film adaptation of Clive Barker’s novella The Hellbound Heart and the 11th instalment overall. It is directed by David Bruckner (The Night House) from a screen story by Ben Collins, Luke Piotrowski, and David S. Goyer. While Clive Barker announced his intent to remake the film series, he didn’t write or direct the new film. He did serve as one of the producers on the new Hellraiser.

Odessa A’zion plays the lead role Riley McKendry, alongside Brandon Flynn as her brother Matt. Drew Starkey also stars as Trevor, Riley’s boyfriend, as well as Adam Faison playing Colin, Matt’s boyfriend. Doug Bradley, best known for playing the role of Pinhead in the Hellraiser movies, didn’t reprise his role. Instead, Hulu’s 2022 Hellraiser reboot introduced a female Pinhead played by Jamie Clayton.
