Halloween Ends is the final instalment of the new Halloween trilogy. Directed by David Gordon Green and co-written by Green, Paul Brad Logan, Chris Bernier, and Danny McBride, this 2022 slasher film is the perfect mix of excitement and fright. The movie icon Jamie Lee Curtis stars alongside Andi Matichak, Rohan Campbell, Will Patton, Kyle Richards, and James Jude Courtney in this thirteenth installment overall of the revered horror franchise.

The film follows Corey Cunningham, a young man who falls in love with Laurie Strode’s granddaughter and finds himself ostracised after crossing paths with Michael Myers. Halloween Ends promises to be the perfect finale to the gripping trilogy, which began with the 2018 Halloween movie and directly follows the 1978 original.

What’s in this Guide?

With the release of Halloween Ends, the Michael Myers saga comes to a terrifying conclusion. The final Halloween movie is Laurie Strode’s last stand, which takes place three years after the traumatic events of the previous film, where Michael Myers has gone missing and the town of Haddonfield is still reeling from his latest killing spree.

The story centres around a young man named Corey Cunningham, who is accused of killing a boy he was babysitting. Corey struggles to move on from the traumatic experience, and his life takes a dark turn when he crosses paths with Michael Myers.

Laurie Strode, who survived Michael’s killing spree in the previous films, is back and living with her granddaughter, Allyson. The two are trying to move on from the trauma, but their lives are once again upended when Corey comes into their lives.

As Corey and Allyson’s relationship develops, tensions rise when Corey is confronted by Jeremy’s mother at a Halloween party. Corey’s life takes an even darker turn when he is attacked by bullies and encounters Michael Myers in the sewers. In a struggle, commits a horrible act and is driven to a path of darkness.

Despite the introduction of a new central character, Halloween Ends is a thrilling conclusion to the Michael Myers saga, filled with twists and turns that will keep viewers on edge.

The Halloween franchise consists of 13 films since John Carpenter’s original film was released in 1978. After several sequels were released in the 1980s and 1990s (most of which Carpenter was no longer involved with), a remake directed by Rob Zombie was released in 2007, followed by Halloween II in 2009.

But it wasn’t until 2018 that David Gordon Green revived the franchise again with 2018’s Halloween and featuring the return of Jamie Lee Curtis’ iconic character Laurie Strode.

A sequel, Halloween Kills, was released in 2021. The last Halloween movie, Halloween Ends, becomes the final confrontation unlike anything Halloween fans have seen before.

For Halloween Ends streaming, Australia has Foxtel launching the film on Movies Premiere (check Foxtel TV guide for Halloween Ends showtimes on the platform).
