Four years after the premiere of Captain Marvel, Brie Larson returns as the titular character in the sequel The Marvels, only this time she’s not alone with Photon and Ms. Marvel joining in on the cosmic adventure.

After the consequences of her battle with the nefarious Kree proved too powerful to face alone, Carol Danvers finds solace in working alongside Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan. However, a mysterious wormhole resulted in the switching of their powers, thus forming The Marvels.

The Marvels is the 33rd movie in the MCU and also serves as the continuation of the series, Ms. Marvel

As an MCU movie, Captain Marvels will drop on Disney Plus after its theatrical run.

The film’s Disney+ release is similar to previous MCU titles, taking around 90 days to arrive on streaming.

After the events of the first film, Carol Danvers finally beats the Supreme Intelligence, only this led to a civil war that disastrously impacted the Kree empire. Meanwhile, Kree’s new leader Dar-Benn is resolved to restart the empire’s reign of terror, using one half of the Quantum Bands to destabilise the universe.

This anomaly in space sets the stage for a bigger battle between Danvers and Dar-Benn. But before all that, Captain Marvel also reunites with her estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau and her biggest fan Kamala Khan, A.K.A. Ms. Marvel.

Together, they fight the universe’s latest threat as “The Marvels”. Then there’s also the ubiquitous Nick Fury who’s now on S.A.B.E.R. and the uber adorable space cats.
