Australia’s iteration of the hit UK game show Taskmaster returns for two back-to-back seasons this year and it’ll be heavily packed with comedy royalty, including Anne Edmonds, Jenny Tian, Josh Thomas, Lloyd Langford and Wil Anderson joining Taskmaster Australia Season 2.

Debuting in 2023 on Channel 10, the panel game show has since become one of the country’s most entertaining offerings. Where else would you see your favourite comedians carrying out the most absurd and mind-boggling tasks set by Taskmaster Tom Gleeson alongside his assistant Tom Cashman?

Taskmaster Australia Season 2 will premiere exclusively on Channel 10. New episodes from Season 2 will also be available for catch-up streaming on 10 Play.

It is commissioned by Paramount and produced by Avalon Television in collaboration with Kevin & Co, the production company behind Taskmaster NZ.

Taskmaster’s Australian version follows the format of the original UK series, which showcases five comedians as they complete a series of bizarre and entirely outrageous tasks. The tasks are set by “The Taskmaster” and assessed by “The Taskmaster’s Assistant”. These special missions can be as ridiculous as they get, although they usually employ every contestant’s “physical, creative and lateral thinking skills”.

The tasks take place within the Taskmaster Retreat, so fans should be familiar with such areas as The Lounge, The Kitchen, The Lab and The Caravan. The final task, which is filmed live, brings the Taskmaster hilarious mayhem back into the studio. In the finale, one contestant is chosen as the winner of the series and takes home a trophy resembling The Taskmaster’s head.

Channel 10 has yet to release the trailer for the new season. In the meantime, you can watch the trailer for Taskmaster Australia Season 1 below.
