How to watch The Book of Boba Fett in Australia

The Book of Boba Fett

A spin-off of the popular Disney Plus series, The Mandalorian, hits streaming this month. This new Star Wars adventure features the bounty hunter, Boba Fett. There have been numerous attempts to give the character a movie as part of the larger Star Wars universe, but it’s only now that it’s finally happening as a standalone TV show. Find out how to watch the Disney Plus series, The Book of Boba Fett, in Australia below.

What’s in this Guide?

The Book of Boba Fett TV series preview

The Book of Boba Fett centres on bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand. The characters first appeared in The Mandalorian with their stories continuing in the new series. Boba Fett is the son of Jango Fett, who first appeared as a villain in 2002’s Attack of the Clones. In The Book of Boba Fett, his character will be further explored, including his past and what happened to him between the events of 1980’s The Empire Strikes Back and The Mandalorian season 2.

Boba Fett has his fair share of dark history as one of the most ruthless bounty hunters just like his father, but his decision to help Mando and Baby Yoda (and the fact that he survived the Sarlacc pit in The Mandalorian season 2) only proves that he deserves his own solo adventure. After all, his iconic armour and penchant for disintegrations made it easier for fans to like him. Alongside his trusted ally, Fennec Shand, they use their cunning and knack for formidable fighting to make a name for themselves in the galaxy’s underworld.

The teaser trailer for the series didn’t reveal much, except that Boba Fett and Fennec Shand succeed in taking over the territory that Jabba the Hutt originally controlled in the original Star Wars trilogy. While he has secured his new position, he still needs others to acknowledge and respect his reign. Fett also talks of ruling with respect, as opposed to Jabba’s ruling through fear, but the power void left in the wake of Bib Fortuna’s demise signals bigger troubles ahead.

Moreover, the events in The Book of Boba Fett will coincide with The Mandalorian’s timeline, which could mean that the series will pick up after The Mandalorian second season finale. Since his past will be explored, flashbacks to his early bounty hunting years will also serve as an essential foundation to its entire narrative.

Big names have signed up to direct episodes of the series. Once Upon a Time in Mexico director Robert Rodriguez, The Mandalorian creator and Iron Man actor Jon Favreau (also executive producer), and Jurassic World actress Bryce Dallas Howard are set to direct select episodes.

The first episode of The Book of Boba Fett is scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus on 29th December with Temuera Morrison and Ming-Na Wen reprising their roles as Boba Fett and Fennec Shand, respectively. Check out the complete main cast of The Book of Boba Fett below.
